The IKM-Manning Woves erased a halftime deficit to earn a hard-fought victory over Riverside Friday Night. The first quarter did not start good for IKM-Manning as they quickly were down 14-0 to Riverside. The Wolves played a better second quarter, putting up 12 points, but still trailed Riverside 21-12 going into the locker rooms. After the break, Riverside Jumped out to a 30-12 lead. The Wolves, needing a big comeback, started one as they closed out the third quarter, scoring a touchdown and trailed 30-18 going into the fourth quarter. Riverside came out in the fourth and scored a touchdown right away to extend their lead over the Wolves 37-18. On IKM-Manning’s next possession, a long Lane Sams run sets up a Ben Langel touchdown as IKM-Manning cut into the lead at 37-25. The Wolves were able to get the ball back again in the fourth, and Ben Langel scored his second touchdown of the quarter, ripping off a 34-yard run to make the score 37-32. With just under four minutes left in the game, IKM-Manning recovered an onside kick. The Wolves sustained a long drive as Davis Rasmussen punched in a two-yard touchdown to take a 38-37 lead with 14 seconds left. The IKM-Manning defense held firm and came out with a 38-37 win over Riverside.
IKM-Manning continued their balanced offensive attack as Ben Ramsey completed 11 of his 18 pass attempts for 130 yards. Ben Langel was a force on the ground as he recorded 96 yards on 22 carries and scored five touchdowns. Davis Rasmussen led the Wolves in rushing with 98 yards on the ground. As a team, IKM-Manning ran for 237 yards. Defensively, Nolan Kerkhoff continues to be a force as he led the team in tackles with 14.5, and 14 of them were solo. Ross Kusel also had 10.5 tackles for the Wolves.
