South Central Calhoun 64
SE Valley 25
The South Central Calhoun Titans put their loss to Newell Fonda in the rear-view mirror as they were able to cruise past Southeast Valley Tuesday night on the road.
South Central Calhoun remains in the top 15 this week at number 14 and showed up big time against the Jaguars, who have been unable to pick up a win in the Twin Lakes Conference. The Titans got off to a great start, showing off their scoring and defensive talents by getting up 18-0 after the first quarter. They followed that up with 20 more points in the second quarter while keeping Southeast Valley to just seven points to lead 38-7 at halftime. As a team, the Titans went 12-16 from the free throw line.
The Jaguars tried to mount a big comeback in the second half, starting off by only being outscored by one point at 14-13 in the third quarter, but still trailed 52-20. South Central Calhoun used the final eight minutes to get other players some time on the floor as they cruised to a 64-25 victory.

Ar-We-Va at West Harrison
Ar-We-Va 53
West Harrison 45
The Ar-We-Va Rockets were able to snap a long four game losing streak as they got past a struggling West Harrison team Tuesday night.
The Rockets were able to get past the Hawkeyes earlier in the season on December 13th where they won 55-42. This game had almost the same number of points, but still the same outcome. The Rockets got off to a slow start as they’d find themselves down 11-10 after the first quarter and eventually down seven points at 26-19 at halftime. Ar-We-Va Head Coach Jeremy Smith says the intensity wasn’t there for the Rockets in the first half, but they upped that energy a lot in the second half.
The Rockets were able to overcome that seven-point deficit and get ahead by two points at 37-35 heading into the fourth quarter. Coach Smith says his team identified West Harrison’s scorers a lot better and played harder on the press, along with hitting their free throws down the stretch. In the fourth quarter the Rockets left nothing behind them as they went on to have a 16-9 final eight minutes of scoring to come away with the 53-45 win.
Maggie Ragaller once again led the Rockets with 22 points and seven steals. Jamie Hausman had a strong performance with 12 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Kora Obrecht and Delaney Schurke both had eight points. The win elevates the Rockets to 6-10 overall on the season and 5-9 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They are off until Thursday, February 2nd when they host LoMa.

Coon Rapids Bayard 30
The Coon Rapids Bayard Crusaders kept the first half close against CAM Anita, but the Cougars had other plans in the second half Tuesday night.
The Crusaders were on a bit of a winning streak going into this game, winning four of their last five games and recently getting past Boyer Valley and Ar-We-Va. CAM Anita were back and forth in their last five games, winning three of them defeating Boyer Valley, West Harrison, and Paton Churdan. The Crusaders would get five points on the board in that quarter and were down 32-18 entering the fourth quarter.
