IKM-Manning, after a tough first three weeks, were able to put everything together for their first win of the season defeating Missouri Valley.
The Wolves got off to a blazing start with a 22-0 first quarter. Ross Kusel continued to develop at the quarterback position, going six for 11 passing for 145 yards and two touchdowns. IKM-Manning’s defense also did a great job of keeping the Big Reds out of the endzone. Ben Ramsey was the leader of the defense in this game with 6.5 total tackles. IKM-Manning held Missouri Valley scoreless with a 36-0 lead.
The Wolves kept the touchdowns coming in the second half. They’d add 13 points in the third quarter and one more in the fourth. Cooper Irlmeier has been a big part of the Wolves offense this season and had another stellar game with 13 carries for 69 yards and three touchdowns. Missouri Valley’s lone touchdown came when quarterback John Soetmelk found Ben Hansen for a 43 yard touchdown. Once zeros were on the board, IKM-Manning was victorious by a final score of 56-6.
The win elevates the Wolves to 1-3 overall on the season. They will be on the road Friday when they take on Tri-Center. Tyler Brunner will have the IKM-Manning broadcast on 93.7 KKRL beginning around 6:25 with the Brincks Exteriors Preview Show.
