Carroll was really good on defense early but struggled to get shots to fall, even though they built a 15-8 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and were up 25-15 at half. They made 1 of 12 shots from beyond the 3-point line in the 1st half, leaving the door open for the Cyclones to keep it close. The Tigers were better in transition in the 2nd half, attacked the basket well, getting better looks from deep on kickout passes. Carroll made 7-3’s in the 2nd half, helping them score 41-points. Harlan came out of the locker room sharp in the 3rd quarter, pouring in 17-points to stay in the game heading to the 4th. Carroll clamped down defensively in the 4th quarter, holding the Cyclones to 8-points.
Jared Mohr was huge for the Tigers, finishing around the rim, passing the ball and rebounding. He finished the game with 16-point, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Mac Collison added 13-points and Trey Tassell added 15-points with 6 rebounds. Lual Tharjiath chipped in with 8-points and 2 blocks.
Carroll wraps up the regular season 17-5 and will host Perry on Monday in the Class 3A District 1 first round on KIKD 106.7.
