Glidden Ralston used a 14-0 run in the 1st quarter to take a lead then held off Paton Churdan every time they went on a run. The Wildcats advance to the Regional Quarterfinals on Tuesday against IKM-Manning. Their defense was a catalyst in the 1st half, having 9 steals to the Rockets 2. Paton Churdan kept themselves in striking distance in the 1st half, dominating the glass. They outrebounded the Wildcats 23-11 with several offensive rebounds leading to points, while they limited Glidden Ralston to one shot most of the half. Glidden Ralston led 16-7 at the end of the 1st quarter after building a 15-2 lead. They stretched the lead to 27-11 in the 2nd quarter but Paton Churdan closed the half with an 8-1 run and trailed 28-19. The Wildcats hit a pair of 3’s to start the 2nd half and were off and running, taking a 47-27 lead into the 4th quarter.

The lead changed hands twice early with Alivya Smith putting Paton Churdan up 2-1 and Chloe Peters responding for Glidden Ralston, taking a 3-2 lead. Peters scored 11-points in the 1st half and carried offense that had a hard time finding a consistent rhythm. Peters bucket started a 14-0 run with Kassidy Wenck, Jenna Subbert and Oliva Squibb all scoring. Peters had 8-points during the run, pushing their lead to 15-2 on her final bucket of the quarter. Ella Tasler stopped the run for Paton Churdan and Kaliyan Minnihan hit a three, pulling the Rockets within 15-7. Jenna Subbert scored to start the 2nd quarter, just as she started the game but Kaliyah Minnihan and Edynn Smith had back-to-back baskets for Glidden Ralston, pulling them within 19-11. Kassidy Wenck, Olivia Squibb and Chloe Peters combined for a 8-0 run as Glidden Ralston went up 27-11. Alivya Smith hit back-to-back 3’s for Paton Churdan, which went on an 8-0 run to pull within 28-19 at half.

Jenna Subbert and Bryn Renze went back-to-back on 3’s to start the 3rd and Glidden Ralston began to open up the lead. Allison Snyder pushed the Wildcats lead to 42-21. The Wildcats lead hung around 20-points for most of the 3rd quarter and was 47-27 going to the 4th quarter. Glidden Ralston put the game away early in the 4th quarter with Bryn Renze, Kennedy Thooft and Olivia Squibb all scoring to extend the lead to 57-29. Squibb made it 61-30 late in the 4th and both teams subbed in their bench. The Rockets went on a nice run to end the game, scoring the final 9-points.

Olivia Squibb and Chloe Peters led the Wildcats with 13-points each. Peters had 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Bryn Renze had a strong all-around game with 9-points, 8 assists and 3 steals with Jenna Subbert adding 11-points and 6 rebounds. Allison Snyder had 5 rebounds and 5 steals.

Edynn Smith and Alivya Smith both had 16-points for Paton Churdan with Alivya adding 9 reb0unds and 3 assists. Edynn had 4 steals and 6 rebounds. Ava Minnehan had 7 rebounds.

Glidden Ralston moves to 13-9 and will head to IKM-Manning on Tuesday. Paton Chudan ends the season at 4-18.

Ar-We-Va At IKM-Manning

The Wolves took charge of the game in the 2nd quarter after Ar-We-Va played very well in the 1st quarter. IKM-Manning led 16-10 going to the 2nd quarter but a strong shooting night from Karlee Arp sparked their 2nd quarter surge as they led 37-12 at half. They Wolves defense stayed strong the rest of the game and IKM-Manning took advantage, keeping the tempo at a faster pace. They had a balanced scoring attack behind Arp with three girls between 7 and 12-points. The Rockets offense struggled to find consistency, scoring 8-points in the 3rd quarter, but going scoreless in the 4th quarter. The Wolves shooting behind Karlee Arp was a big difference. Arp hit 6-11 from three and the Wolves went 11-31 from deep while Ar-We-Va hit 2-19 from three.

Karlee led the Wolves with 20-points with Keagan Eischeid having 12-points and 12 rebounds.  Annabelle Blum added 11-points and 3 assists. Oriah Meiners had 10-points and 3 steals and Anna Stangl had 7-points and 8 rebounds with 3 steals. Addisyn Bandow and Kadynce Ketcham both had 7 rebounds.

Gabbie Hundling had a team high 9-points with 6 rebounds for Ar-We-Va. Mara Obrecht added 5-points with Annalee Wittrock having 4-points and 3 rebounds and Aubrie McCollough having 4 rebounds.

The Wolves improve to 10-12 and will host Glidden Ralston on Tuesday in the Regional Quarterfinals while Ar-We-Va wraps up the season at 0-22.
