St Albert clinched the Hawkeye 10 Conference Championship at the Casey’s Center on Tuesday evening as Kuemper struggled from the floor, hitting 14% from the field and just 2-11 from deep. St Albert created turnovers all game, turning many of those into easy baskets. They shot 43% from 2-point range and hit 7-3’s compared to 2 for the Knights. The Saintes jumped on Kuemper early, taking an 18-5 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and were up 29-13 at half. The game was still in striking distance starting the 3rd but Kuemper wasn’t able to on track on offense and St Albert outscored them 22-4 in the 3rd quarter to blow the game open. The Knights scored only 4-points in the 2nd half.
Elsa Tiefenthaler led Kuemper with 7-points along with 6 rebounds. Mackenzie Yetmar added 3-points and Kaylie Simons had 4 rebounds.
The Knights fall to 15-5 on the season and will host Red Oak on Saturday in Class 3A Region 2.

Carroll struggled against the pace North Polk played with as the Tigers fell on the road on Tuesday. The defense was strong in the 1st quarter as they trailed 13-8. North Polk took over in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, outscoring the Tigers 36-12 during the middle part of the game. Carroll won the 4th quarter with some younger players getting some valuable experience.
Ali Kock led the Tigers with 12-points and 6 rebounds with Analia Ayala adding 9-points and Sadie Kelly with 5-points. Chloe Kock had 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
The loss drops Carroll to 5-16 overall. They host Humboldt Saturday in Class 3A Region 7.

East Sac led most of the game but South Central Calhoun rallied late, tied the game and won in overtime as the two teams wrapped up the regular season. Both teams shot the ball well from deep early, with each team making 3-3’s as East Sac led 16-13 at the end of the 1st quarter. Sarah Bontrager, who shot it well for East Sac kept it going in the 2nd quarter, using a quick release to get the shot off against the Tigers zone defense. She had 15-points in the 1st half as East Sac led 31-24 at half. Macie Dorman kept the Titans in striking distance, scoring 11-points in the 1st half as well as doing a nice job on the glass. Sadie Wheelock was spreading the ball around from the post for South Central Calhoun. The Titans changed up the defense in the 2nd half and chased Sarah Bontrager all over the court with Blair Schleisman. They cut into the Raiders lead in the 3rd, but East Sac took a 41-36 lead into the 4th quarter. East Sac went cold in the 4th as the Titans defense cranked up the intensity. Macie Dorman took over on offense for South Central Calhoun as the Titans stormed back to tie the game at 47, sending the game to overtime. The Titans completed the rally, edging past East Sac for a 52-50 win.
Macie Dorman led the Titans with 30-points while grabbing 7 rebounds. Blair Schleisman added 12-points and 4 steals with Sadie Wheelock having 9 points and 8 assists and Ailey Korleski had 4 steals.
Sarah Bontrager had a team high 21-points for East Sac while making 5 steals. Reese Aschinger added 10-points with 3 steals. Wendie Veit scored 6-points and Scottie Eichhorn had 5-points and 4 rebounds.
The Titans end the regular season 8-13 and will head to MMCRU on Tuesday in Class 2A Region 7. East Sac falls to 9-12 and hosts Madrid on Saturday in Class 2A Region 3.
