
Girls State Wrestling Results for Friday Class 1A Session
It was a strong day for the three local girls in the Class 1A session on Friday morning. Macy Rasmussen of Audubon started it quickly, winning her semifinal match, after falling behind 2-0 in the 2nd period. She got the takedown in the 3rd and was able to ride out the clock, keeping her feet inbounds to win 3-2. She will advance into the finals on Friday evening against Violet Diaz of Denver. Diaz is the top seed at 110-pounds with Rasmussen as the 2nd seed.
Emery Kramer of South Central Calhoun, bounced back well at 110-pounds. After falling in her 3rd round consolation match, she dominated her 7th place match, earning a quick pin. Kramer through Kiersten McRoberts of Osage, earning a win by fall in 0:42. She finished in 7th place.
Sadie Smith of Kuemper takes home a 7th place medal. Smith lost her 3rd round consolation and faced Carly Maternach of Cascade in her 7th place match. She fell down early but kept with her game plan and earned the win by fall in 4:58.
