East Sac struggled to score on Saturday on the road, shooting 25% from the floor and only getting to the free throw line twice, going 3 of 4. Their offense struggles included 19 turnovers, limiting their offensive opportunities. They hung tight in the 1st quarter, down 11-6 but scored 3-points in the 2nd quarter, allowing 22-points to trail 33-9 at half. East Sac battled hard on defense in the 3rd, getting most of their six steals but weren’t able to close the gap much, outscoring the Titans 9-7. The game went into continuous clock in the 4th quarter.
Zach Jacobsen gave the Raiders the lead early with a three but GTRA went on a 11-0 run before Kason Schroeder hit a three, making it 11-6 to end the 1st quarter. Schroeder got the Raiders on the board in the 2nd quarter, stopping a 10-0 run by GTRA. The Raiders didn’t score again until Weston Julin made a free throw late in the half. The Titans had scored 10-0 again to make it a 20-2 between Raider points. East Sac trailed 33-9 at half.
Carson Schmitt scored inside early in the 3rd and East Sac was down 33-11, a Kason Schroeder three made it 40-14 in favor of GTRA, Schroeder’s three sparked the Raiders as they closed the 3rd on a 4-0 run with a basket from Carson Schmitt and a pair of free throws from Marc Brotherson. The Raiders trailed 40-18 entering the 4th quarter. A Titans 16-2 run to start the 4th put the game into continuous clock as East Sac fell 58-25.
Kason Schroeder led the Raiders with 8-points, Grayson Rubendall had a strong defensive game inside, altering shots on help defense and blocking 3 shots while pulling down 4 rebounds. Carson Schmitt added 4-points and 4 rebounds and Marc Brotherson had 4-points and 2 steals in limited minutes.
The Raiders fall to 4-13 and will head to Pocahontas Area on Tuesday.
