Kuemper traveled down to Lewis Central on Friday evening. The Knights were right off their 4th loss of the year against a solid Newman Catholic non-conference opponent. The Knights were looking to remain in the driver’s seat for a shot at the conference title as they came in undefeated in the conference. Both teams started solidly offensively, with both scoring in double digits, and the Titans led 22-15 after the first. Scoring slowed, and defense picked up heavy in the 2nd with an 8-7 quarter and a Lewis Central lead at the break by 8. Kuemper did what they have done well all season and came out fast in the 3rd with a 13-point difference in the 3rd to lead 45-40 after the 3rd. It was tight down the strectch but the Knights were able to maintain their lead to pick up a 60-57 win on the road. Elsa Tiefenthaler led the Knights with 17 points, while Addy Anthofer added 6 rebounds.

Carroll hosted Winterset for a Racoon River Conference matchup on Friday evening. The Huskies came in at 5-11 while the Tigers came in at 5-10. Both teams came out solid defensively and matched eachother with an 88 tie after 1. Winterset found separation in a stronger offensive quarter, leading 24-22 at halftime. The Huskies and Tigers offense was very slow once again in the 3rd with a 7-6 quarter for Winterset as they led by 3 heading into the final quarter. Winterset was able to pick up a 39-35 win on the road. Carroll drops to 0-2 on the week and 5-11 on the season. Ali Kock led the Tigers with 23 points and 7 rebounds.

Coon Rapids-Bayard picked up a huge win over Woodbine on Friday. The Crusaders came in at 12-4 on the year, while Woodbine came in at 8-9. The Crusaders started off the game with two turnovers. Woodbine would get up 7-2 before the game woulf completly flip. CRB went on a 9-0 run to close the 1st quarter. They kept the run going, eventually capped at an 18-2 run, as CRB led 26-15 at halftime. Ashtyn Klocke came up huge with a couple of 3s, the Crusaders’ press,s and a 2-3 zone kept Woodbine’s offense slow. The 3rd was very chippy and physical, with a 6-3 quarter and CRB leading by a wide margin at the 3rd-quarter break. CRB had its most successful quarter, going 21-12, highlighted by a 55-30 road win. The Crusaders nailed 9 threes led by Ashtyn Klocke with 3 and Aubrey Hofbauer with 3. Klocke led the Crusaders with 13 points and 8 rebounds.

Glidden-Ralston picked up their 2nd straight conference win over Paton-Churdan on Friday Night. Glidden-Ralston was at full strength and came in at 10-7 on the year. P-C had a couple of girls inactive and came in at 2-15 on the year. Glidden-Ralston came out strong, taking a 14-3 lead early. The 2nd quarter was the most successful for the Wildcats, as they outscored the Rockets 22-6 to lead by a large margin at halftime. The 2nd half was slower, but the Wildcats controlled the tempo, outscoring P-C 15-7 and securing a 51-16 home win. Glidden-Ralston was led by Kassidy Wenck with 15 points. Paton-Churdan was led by Edynn Smith with 7 points.

It was a tight first quarter with BV picking up the lead at 15-10 after the first. Boyer Valley started to roll in the 2nd as they had a 22-8 quarter for a 37-18 lead at the break. The final two quarters were very close, with Ar-We-Va playing very solidly. Boyer Valley would have a 17-10 3rd and a 12-10 4th quarter to pick up a 66-38 win on the road. Ar-We-Va falls to 0-19 on the season as they were led by Mara Obrecht with 18 points.

Exira-EHK started the game the same way they have all season: tough defensively and solid offensively, as the Spartans led 18-11 after 1. The Spartans once again outscored CAM in the 2nd, 20-13, but CAM kept themselves somewhat close. Exira-EHK played well offensively, scoring in double digits in all 4 quarters, with their lowest at 16 in the 3rd and 4th. The Spartans pick up their 17th win of the season with a 70-41 win at home. Jaelynn Petersen led the Spartans with 27 points.

Treynor came out solid to start the game as they have done time and time again. The Cardinals jumped up 17-8 after the 1st quarter. The Cardinals kept it up both offensively and defensively as they outscored IKM-Manning 21-5 in the 2nd quarter to lead big at the halftime break. The 2nd half was much closer but with a 38-13 deficit, IKM-Manning had to have a phenomenal second half to come back. IKM-Manning would outscore the Cardinals 13-8 in the 4th. The Wolves would fall 58-37 on the road. IKM-Manning falls to 8-9 on the year as they were led by Oriah Meiners with 11 points.

Sioux Central was able to find its footing in the 2nd with a 17-11 quarter for a 5-point lead at the break. Sioux Central pulled away further in the 3rd, continuing their momentum.
