Kuemper hit 11-3’s in the 1st half and made a game that looked like it could be a good challenge turn into a runaway by halftime. The Knights were strong on both ends of the floor and dominated from the start. Dylan Schon controlled the backboards and Griffin Glynn drained three early 3’s and Kuemper never looked back. They never trailed and after getting up 6-0, the closest Ridge View came was 6-3. The Knights poured in 59-points in the 1st half, doing that with Ryan Clair missing a lot of minutes with three fouls. The lead grew to 36 midway through the 3rd quarter and Kuemper still scored 21-points in the 4th quarter with bench players, playing the whole game. Griffin Bauer hit a three in the final minutes, giving Kuemper a 102-49 lead.

Ryan Clair started the Kuemper spurt with a 3 before Griffin Glynn made 3-3’s to give Kuemper a 12-3 lead. The Knights kept the pressure up on both sides of the floor, getting buckets from Dylan Schon and Ryan Clair with Jack Badding adding a pair of free throws. Kuemper led 23-7 midway through the 1st quarter. Jack Badding hit a bucket, putting Kuemper up 26-8 and Dylan Schon ended the quarter with a basket as Kuemper led 31-15 to end the 1st quarter. Jordan Tryon started the 2nd quarter with a three and Jack Badding hit a pair of 3’s, putting Kuemper up 40-18. A Griffin Glynn runner in the lane extended the lead to 42-19. Jack Badding hit another three and finished the Knights 1st half scoring with two more 3’s, finishing the 1st half with 19-points as Kuemper led 59-29.

A Ridge View spurt opened the 2nd half with the Raptors 59-33 before Griffin Glynn hit a pair of buckets, pushing the Kuemper lead to 63-35. Dylan Schon and Ryan Clair combined for seven points in a row and Kuemper led 71-38 late in the 3rd quarter. Teddy Perkins hit a corner three and Kuemper led 74-38, moving the game into continuous clock. They would lead 86-41 entering the 4th quarter. Griffin Bauer drained a three in the 4th quarter, pushing Kuemper over 100-points.

Griffin Glynn and Jack Badding had a team high 19-points each with Badding adding 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Dylan Schon and Ryan Clair both had 18-points with Schon adding 14 rebounds and 4 steals and Clair having 5 rebounds. Jordan Tryon had 8-points and Nash Leonard had 7-points and 6 rebounds.

The Knights improved to 14-3 and will head to Lewis Central on Friday on KIKD 106.7.

Carroll picked up a conference win on the road at Boone on Tuesday. The Tigers played their first game since jumping up to 5th in Class 3A. The Tigers closed last week with wins over ADM and Des Moines Christian. Boone has been down as they lost 5 straight heading into the game. The Tigers and Toreadors went back and forth early. Carroll hit their first 3 3’s, and it looked like they would dominate the game shooting. The Toreadors kept it close as they trailed 17-15 heading into the 2nd quarter. Carroll would once again get to the line tons in this game as they would travel there 26 times. Carroll led by 8 at the halftime break. Both teams slowed up in the 3rd and it was very turnover and defense-heavy as only 19 combined points were scored, and Carroll led by 9 heading into the 4th. In the 4th, the Tigers defense ramped up heavy and they closed the game with a 67-47 win on the road.

Ar-We-Va got some revenge on the road on Tuesday, rallying from down 11-points in the 2nd quarter to tie the game at 36 at half. They took the lead in the 3rd quarter and dominated the final stanza. A slow start offensively put them in a hole but they kept battling, finishing with five guys in double figures. They were able to score 20 or more points in the final three quarters, pushing 26-points on the board in the 4th quarter to blow open a close game.

Wyatt Ragaller led a balanced attack with 21-points with 5 rebounds and 4 assists, Devon Ehlers continues to be an offensive threat with 20-points and 5 rebounds. Hayden Studer added 16-points, 4 assists and 4 steals with Derek Thomsen scoring 13 points and Grant Wilken adding 12-points and 4 assists. Tyson Von Glan had a huge night on the boards with 11 rebounds.

The Rockets improved to 12-6 overall and 7-4 in the RVC. They host Boyer Valley on Friday.

The teams battled back and forth in the 1st quarter before Coon Rapids Bayard took control in the 2nd quarter with another outstanding defensive game. They held Glidden Ralston to 16-points after the 1st quarter, going on several big runs to lead 35-16 at half. The game was tight after the 1st quarter as Greyson Renze hit a bucket to tie it at 11. The Crusaders created several turnovers in the 2nd quarter and were able to get into transition. The Crusaders scored 24-points in the 2nd quarter. Things didn’t change in the 3rd quarter as the Crusaders were able to create turnovers and get easy buckets, outscoring the Wildcats 23-9. Colton Rohrbeck had a strong quarter for Glidden Ralston with 5-points. Coon Rapids Bayard defense was dominant in the final stanza, not allowing a made basket as Glidden Ralston scored a pair of free throws by Colton Rohrbeck.

Ty Heydon was huge for Coon Rapids Bayard with 22-points, 14 rebounds and 6 steals. Cal Heydon added 17-points with 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Gavin Heiderscheit had 12-points and Caden Oswald added 11-points and 6 steals.

Colton Rohrbeck led Glidden Ralston with 9-points and Dawson Majerus had 8-points.

The Crusaders improved to 15-1 overall and 10-0 in the RVC. They head to Woodbine on KKRL on Friday. Glidden Ralston falls to 3-14 overall and 1-10 in the RVC. They host Paton Churdan on Friday.

The Rockets had four players in double figures and nearly had three players with double-doubles as they won a hard fought conference game. Paton Churdan  had to hold off a Spartan that entered the game with a lot of confidence, having won their last time out. The 1st quarter was low scoring with both defenses able to limit second chance opportunities. The offenses took over in the 2nd quarter with the Spartans outscoring the Rockets 24-20, cutting the Rockets lead to 32-30. Paton Churdan settled in defensively in the 2nd half, allowing 21-points as they held on for a 61-51 win.

Trevon Keely, Phoenix Hartman and Donavan Martin all had 15-points with Keely pulling down 12-rebounds, Martin had 10 rebounds. Cayden Stream added 10-points and 8 rebounds.

The Rockets improved to 6-11 overall and 5-6 in the RVC. They head to West Central Valley on Thursday.

IKM-Manning got a huge home win on Tuesday, holding onto a halftime lead to beat Underwood by six. The Wolves had a strong defensive effort, holding the Eagles to to 52-points and 9-points in the final stanza. A quick start helped them lead most of the game. They led Underwood 16-14 at the end of the 1st quarter and were up 34-28 at half. Underwood battled back in the 3rd, tying the game but outscoring the Wolves 15-9. Ben Ramsey and Wyatt Danner were crucial offensively all game with Ashton Ahrenholtz having a strong rebounding game, helping Danner fight through the loss of Brock Kusel, who wasn’t able to go on Tuesday, limiting the Wolves depth inside. Jayce Ferneding played valuable minutes for IKM-Manning.

Ben Ramsey paced the Wolves offense with 26-points, going over 1,500 for his career. Wyatt Danner added 19-points with 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Ashton Ahrenholtz added 9-points and 9 rebounds.

The Wolves improved to 9-6 overall and 7-5 in the WIC. They head to Treynor on Friday.

East Sac played really well on defense but had a tough night shooting as they lost at home to Manson NW Webster. The Raiders shot 25% from the field and 18% from three. They offense executed well, turning it over six times and getting good looks. The defense was really strong, keeping them within striking distance after falling behind 10-4 in the 1st quarter.

Grayson Rubendall had a team high 7-points with 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Jordan Ulmer had 6-points with 9 rebounds and Weston Julin and Riley Aragon both had 6-points. Carson Schmitt added 4 assists.

The Raiders fell to 4-11 overall and 3-5 in the TLC. They host Sioux Central on Friday.

South Central Calhoun evened their record at 8-8 overall, using a big 4th quarter to win at West Bend Mallard. The Titans led early but fell behind 32-28 heading into the 4th quarter. The offense struggled in the middle part of the game, scoring a total of 14-points with 5-points coming in the 3rd quarter a West Bend Mallard took the lead. Garrett Krause  had a pair of crucial 3’s and Halas Steig knocked in a three as the Titans found their rhythm on offense. Charlie Nattress and Garrett Krause both made key free throws. The defense cranked it up a notch, creating some steals while holding West Bend Mallard to 7-points.

Halas Steig had a team high 12-points, leading a balanced attack with Charlie Nattress, Garrett Krause and Cade Higgins all having 10-points.

The Titans improved to 8-8 overall and 4-4 in the TLC. They host Newell Fonda on Friday.
