Coon Rapids Bayard Vs Harlan At Iowa Events Center

Coon Rapids Bayard used big 1st and 3rd quarters and a hot shooting night from Ella Heithoff to earn a nice win over Harlan at the Casey’s Center in Des Moines on Monday afternoon. The Crusaders got 4-3’s from Ella Heithoff in the 1st half, helping them build a 20-14 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and a 34-26 lead at half. Their defense took over in the 2nd half, h0lding Harlan to 4 points in the 3rd quarter and 13 points for the 2nd half. Malia Clayburg and Ella Heithoff were tough on defense and Anna Hart kept the Cyclones from getting clean looks with a pair of blocks. The Crusaders outscored Harlan 13-4 in the 3rd quarter and led 47-30 entering the final stanza.

Ella Heithoff led the offense attack with 17-points to go with 3 steals. Anna Hart added 15-points with another strong all-around game with 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocks. Aubrey Hofbauer contributed 7-points and 2 steals while Malia Clayburg and Ashtyn Klocke both had 6-points and 8 rebounds with Clayburg adding 4 steals.

The Crusaders improved to 12-4 on the season and will head to Glidden Ralston on Tuesday.

IKM-Manning had a strong defensive game, finishing with 17 steals and getting their hands on 23 passes while only turning it over 9 times. That allowed them to build an early lead and knock off Ar-We-Va. The Rockets shot 17% from the field while IKM-Manning was able to turn their steals into easier buckets, shooting 45% from the field. The Wolves built a 28-5 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and led 53-9 at half.

Anna Stangl led the Wolves offensive attack with 18-points while Oriah Meiners and Keagan Eischeid both had 10-points. Meiners added 7 steals and 3 assists while Eischeid had 4 blocked shots. Kadynce Ketcham had 7-points and 6 rebounds and 3 steals with Ella Langel, McKenna Benton and Addisyn Bandow all having 6-points. Bandow added 5 rebounds and Langel had 6 rebounds. Annabelle Blum finished with 5 assists.

Mara Obrecht paced Ar-We-Va with 8 points to go with 2 steals, Hallie McCollough had 5-points and 3 steals and Aubrie McCollough had 5 points.

IKM-Manning improves to 8-7 overall and will host Underwood on Tuesday. Ar-We-Va falls to 0-17 and will head to CAM on Tuesday.

South Central Calhoun battled foul trouble all game and it caught up to them in the 4th quarter as Sioux Central pulled away for the win. The Titans were down 3 at the end of the 1st quarter but tied the game at half though they played with several starters seeing limited minutes with the Titans finishing the game with 31 fouls. The Rebels outshot the Titans 34 to 10, helping them take charge in the 2nd half. The game was tied at 25 at half and the Titans trailed 46-41 entering the 4th quarter. Macie Dorman and Sadie Wheelock had their minutes cut to around two quarters of play due to foul trouble. Sioux Central outscored the Titans 27-8 in the 4th quarter to make the final score deceiving.

Blair Schleisman led the Titans offensive attack with 22-points to go with 6 rebounds and 7 steals. Macie Dorman had 9-points and 5 assists with Ailey Korleski adding 8-points and 6 rebounds. Sadie Wheelock had 5-points.

The Titans feall to 4-12 on the season and will head to West Bend Mallard on Tuesday.

The Spartans defense rebounded from a slow start on Monday, holding Panorama to 26-points over the final three quarters. The offense was sharp early with Riley Miller hitting 4-3’s as three girls scored in double figures. They shot better from deep than in the lane for most of the game, struggling around the rim. The Spartans still scored 22-points in the 1st quarter and built a 35-18 lead by half. They blew the game open with a 23-point 3rd  quarter.

Taryn Petersen had a team high 16-points with Riley Miller making 4-3’s to finish with 12-points and Kadence Brannan Sporrer adding 11-points. Zoey Rasmussen scored 8-points, Jaelynn Petersen had 7-points and Harlow Miller finished with 6-points.

The 8th ranked Spartans improved to 15-1, having won 15 games in a row. They head to Paton Churdan on Tuesday.
