Coon Rapids Bayard used a 17-2 run to close out the 1st quarter to take charge of the game as they earned their 14th win of the season. IKM-Manning battled hard, leading twice early in the game but struggled to hit open looks early and couldn’t recover. The Crusaders controlled the board early, then held off a couple runs the Wolves made in the 2nd half. The game was tied once, at 2-2 and changed leads three times, all in the 1st quarter. The Crusaders led by as may as 30 but the Wolves had pulled within 11 early in the 2nd half.

Wyatt Danner had a nice bucket early for IKM-Manning as they took a 2-0 lead. Gavin Heiderscheit had a pair of buckets, giving Coon Rapids Bayard a 4-2 lead. Isaac Blankman drained a corner three and IKM-Manning was up 5-4, but it would the Wolves last lead. Bryce Lewis answered with a three on the next Crusaders possession and Coon Rapids Bayard went on a 15-0 run with Cal Heydon scoring 7-points, Ty Heydon scoring 2-points, Gavin Heiderscheit adding 3-points. They took a 21-7 lead into the 2nd quarter and were in control of the game. Ty Heydon extended the lead to 23-7 to start the 2nd quarter but Ashton Ahrenholtz scored for IKM-Manning, followed by Brock Kusel and IKM-Manning was down 23-11. Caden Oswald took over for Coon Rapids Bayard, scoring five points wrapped around a Ben Ramsey bucket. Ben Ramsey and Cal Heydon traded three’s and the Crusaders led 34-16 at half.

Ben Ramsey scored four quick points to start the 3rd and IKM-Manning was down 34-20 but Coon Rapids Bayard pushed it back to 36-20. A Wyatt Danner basket, followed by a Ben Ramsey three forced a Crusaders timeout with the lead down to 36-25. Bryce Lewis hit a three out of the timeout and Coon Rapids Bayard scored 15 of the games next 18-points and led 54-28 going to the 4th quarter. The Crusaders built a 58-28 lead on a pair of buckets from Ty Heydon and never left IKM-Manning get within more that 19 the rest of the game.

Cal Heydon had a team high 15-points for Coon Rapids Bayard, while grabbing 8 rebounds and dishing out 4 assists early. Ty Heydon added 12-points, 11 rebounds and 5 steals. Gavin Heiderscheit added 13-points, Bryce Lewis had 9-points and Caden Oswald had 7-points and 3 steals.

Ben Ramsey had a game high 28-points with 4-3’s, Luke Janssen added 5-points and 4 rebound. Wyatt Danner added 6 rebounds and Karsyn Lorensen added 5 rebounds off the bench.

The Crusaders are 14-1 and will plan to play a makeup game on Tuesday At Glidden Ralston. IKM-Manning falls to 8-6 and is scheduled to play at Audubon on Friday.

Ar-We-Va was really good on the offensive end on Thursday at LoMa, rolling out to a 30-point lead in the final minute of the 3rd quarter. The Panthers made a run in the 4th but the game had been decided prior as Ar-We-Va holds on to win by 14. The Rockets were balanced on offense with Wyatt Ragaller leading them with 19-points  to go with 6 rebounds. Derek Thomsen added 15-points and Hayden Studer added 11-points, giving the Rockets three player in double figures. Studer added 5 assists. Devon Ehlers had 8-points and Tyson Von Glad had 8 rebounds.

Ar-We-Va improved to 11-5 overall and will host Woodbine on KKRL on Friday.

Glidden Ralston led 4-3 early but Tri Center was able to get out in transition, using their height to build a 27-7 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Glidden Ralston opened the 2nd quarter with a pair of quick baskets. Tri Center responded with some quick transition baskets and led 49-17 at half. Dawson Majerus had 8-points in the quarter for Glidden Ralston. The Wildcats kept fighting in the 2nd half, sharing the ball well and scoring around the rim. The Trojans offense continued to produce and led 64-25 after the 3rd quarter. Glidden Ralston used the offensive momentum from the 3rd to have their best quarter in the 4th, scoring 15-points.

Dawson Majerus led the Wildcats with 12-points to go with 7 rebounds, Colton Rohrbeck had 8-points and Alex Daniel had 5-points.

The Wildcats fell to 3-13 overall and will potentially play Coon Rapids Bayard on Tuesday in a game that has been postponed from Friday.

The Rockets had a chance to win heading into the 4th quarter with the game tied at 43. They rallied with 19-points in the 3rd quarter, getting themselves back into the game. They played really hard, even though they were short-handed. Struggles at the rim was the difference down the stretch as the Rockets had several chances near the rim, but weren’t able to finish and Woodward Academy took advantage, They outscored the Rockets but six in the 4th quarter to earn their 4th win of the season.

Trevon Keely had a big game on offense with 26-points to go with a pair of blocks. Phoenix Hartman added 10-points, Donavan Martin had 7-points and 5 rebounds, Bryce Stephenson added 9 rebounds and Cayden Stream had 5-points with 7 rebounds.

The Rockets slip to 4-11 overall a they host CAM on Friday.

East Sac hosted MVAOCOU in a non-conference basketball matchup on Thursday night. The Raiders have gained some momentum as of late and wanted to gain more heading into their game against Alta-Aurelia Friday. The Raiders and Rams were close early as ESC trailed 9-2 in the middle of the quarter before a Kason Schroeder and Zach Jacobsen pair of threes to trail 12-10 after 1. In the 2d, the Raiders hit some big shots and played tough defensively to take the lead at 21-20 heading into the break. In the 3rd, both teams traded with plenty of inside looks from MVAOCOU and a lot of good shots out of ESC. The Rams went up late in the 4th 40-38 before Kason Schroeder hit a 3 to go up 41-40. Jordan Ulmer on the next play went up to contest a lead taking layup and got the block. Ulmer gained possession and nailed two free-throws to go up 43-40. MVAOCOU got a steal late to make it 43-42. Final possession was 11 seconds and the Rams had a 3 in the corner to win it but a good contest from Weston Julin made the shot bank off the rim and the Raiders picked up the win at home.
