Carroll took on Gilbert on the road Tuesday evening. Carroll jumped up to #10 in 3A over  the last set of rankings after a tough stretch of games. Carroll and Gilbert were very comparable and even ended up neck and neck after one at 11-11. The Tigers were able to seperate more in the 2nd quarter as they would take a 23-19 lead into halftime. Carroll played solid defense in the 1st half but was struggling to knock down shots. The second half brought more offensive success. In the 4th with 3 minutes to go, Gilbert took the lead but Mac Collison was able to come down and knock in a 3. Trey Tassell sealed the game with a pair of freethrows and a steal to win it.

Kuemper At Denison Schleswig

Kuemper trailed briefly in the 1st quarter but responded with a 17-2 run to take control of the game. They kept the momentum into the 2nd quarter as Denison Schleswig went cold. The Knights three-quarter court press and halfcourt trap created some turnovers. Denison Schleswig was patient in their halfcourt set but had to rush to get shots late in the shot clock and the Knights turned those into scoring opportunities on the other end. The Knight finished with six made 3’s but did most of their damage in the 1st half in the lane and at the rim. Kuemper pushed the game into continuous clock in the 2nd half.

Ryan Clair scored first as Kuemper had outstanding ball movement all game. Denison Schleswig tied the game at 2. Dylan Schon scored and Kuemper led 6-2, making it 6-3 on a bucket by Teddy Perkins. Denison Schleswig went on a 4-0 run and led for a moment as Teddy  Perkins was fouled shooting a three. He made all three free throws and Kuemper went ahead 9-7. The Monarchs tied the game at 9 but Kuemper went on a 10-0 run to end the 1st quarter Teddy Perkins and Dylan Schon each scored to start the 2nd quarter and Kuemper led 23-9. Jordan Tryon drained a three and Ryan Clair took over with three straight free throws and a couple assists. Kuemper used a 12-0 run, building a 38-14. They pushed the lead to 42-16 at half with Griffin Glynn and Jack Badding both scoring before half.

Dylan Schon had a pair of baskets early in the 3rd quarter and Griffin Glynn hit a three, making it 49-20. Back-to-back baskets from Ryan Clair pushed the game into continuous clock late in the 3rd quarter. They led 68-8 heading to the 4th quarter. Evan Pick had a strong 4th quarter for Kuemper as they played everyone.

Dylan Schon finished with 15-points for Kuemper along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Ryan Clair had a team high 16-points, 4 assists and 2 blocks, Teddy Perkins added 13-points and Griffin Glynn had 12-points. Jack Badding had 4 assists and 3 steals.

The Knights improved to 9-3 overall and will head to Glenwood on KIKD on Friday.

Glidden-Ralston took on Woodbine Tuesday night. The Wildcats played well tonight as both teams traded early. G-R hit some 3’s to finish out the quarter trailing 15-12. Woodbine would get on a run to end the half and take a 7-point lead into the break on their home floor. Woodbine opened up the 3rd the same way they ended the 2nd with a 13-point lead. Glidden would cut it down to 6 at one point before falling behind 10 to end the 3rd. Landon Rohrbeck and Carson Peters hit some big 3’s to open the 4th and cut the lead to 4. Woodbine locked down defensively and was able to pull away for the 55-44 win.

Paton-Churdan at Boyer Valley

Paton-Churdan was on the road for a conference matchup with Boyer Valley Tuesday night. The Rockets fell behind after 1, 16-10. In the 2nd quarter, P-C would play very unselfish basketball and were able to score 21 and take a 31-28 lead at the half. During the 3rd and 4th, Boyer Valley locked in on both ends of the floor and were able to outscore P-C 34-11 to pick up the 62-42 win. This loss moves P-C to 4-7 on the season with Ogden on Thursday.

Ar-We-Va hosted Exira-EHK for Rolling Valley Conference basketball on Tuesday night. The Rockets come off of a loss to Woodbury Central on Saturday. AWV came out fast and got a lead after 1 at 14-10. The 2nd quarter was where AWV got seperation as they would outscore Exira 16-6 for a 30-16 lead at the break. Both teams would break double-digits in the 3rd but AWV maintained a 42-30 lead after 3. AWV closed out the game with a 15-3 4th quarter for a 57-33 win. The Rockets move to 8-5 on the season.

Audubon Boys Basketball took on a goo Underwood team onthe road Tuesday. Underwood came in at 8-3 on the year while Audubon sat at 7-5. Both teams came out scoring well but Underwood was able to sneak away with a 21-16 lead. The Eagles seperated once more in the 2nd as they would have an 11 point lead at the break. Underwood yet again outscored Audubon 17-9 in the 3rd as the Wheelers could score but Underwood just was able to inch past them each quarter. In the 4th it was 15-10 Audubon but it was a deep enough hole as the Wheelers fell 63-49 on the road. The Wheelers get #6 Treynor on Friday.

South Central Calhoun took on Humboldt on the road Tuesday. The Titans came in at 5-6 and hot off a win Monday. The Wildcats came in at 5-4 as well. The Titans and Wildcats came out solid and it was tight early with SCC going up 10-7 after the 1st quarter. The middle quarters was Humboldts bread and butter as a 17-12 2nd quarter put the Wildcats up 2 at 24-22. In the 3rd, Humboldt had their best offensive quarter with 18 to take a 9 point lead into the final quarter of play. SCC crawled back in and even cut it to 3 at one point bu Humboldt held on for a 48-44 win at home. SCC falls to 5-7 on the season and 1-1 on the week.

IKM-Manning hit the road for a WIC matchup with #5 ranked Tri-Center. Tri-Center knocked off Treynor to move up and they have been red hot all season. IKM-Manning played really well to start the game as they would go up 18-17 after 1. The scoring would slow down with Tri-Center evening up the game at 28 a piece at the halftime break. IKM-Manning played well up and down the court in the 1st half and were able to compete. In the 2nd, Tri-Center was able to seperate to a 3 point lead after 3. They would explode offensively for a 25-point 4th quarter, and a 14-point win at 67-53. AJ Harder led Tri-Center with 32 and Ben Ramsey of IKM-Manning had 25.  IKM-Manning falls to 5-5 with Riverside at home Friday.
