South Central Calhoun built a 7-0 lead and held off every rally Webster City made as they lead from the start to finish, earning their second win in a row. Webster City pulled within a point early in the 2nd quarter but the Titans responded, pushing the lead to double digits and leading by ten at the end of the 1st half. They defense in the 1st half was outstanding, holding Evie Davis, who scores 15-points per game to 5-points but making it tough on her every time she touched the ball. The Titans took advantage of Lynx turnovers and limited their own turnovers.
Sadie Wheelock had a pair of free throws, Macie Dorman made bucket and Blair Schleisman drained the first of her five 3’s a they built a 7-0 lead. Webster City went on a 7-3 run, pulling within 11-7 but Kenley Wuebker hit a nice baseline jumper making it 13-7. A 5-0 Lynx run made it 13-12 early in the 2nd quarter as they scored the first-two points in the 2nd quarter. Blair Schleisman responded with three free throws, after being fouled shooting a three. She followed it up with a three and the Titans were up 19-12. The Lynx cut the deficit to 21-16 but Sadie Wheelock hit a big three, extending the lead to 24-16. Baskets by Sadie Wheelock and Macie Dorman on a steal and layup right before the buzzer gave South Central Calhoun a 28-18 lead at half.
A pair of three’s from Webster City pulled them within 28-24 but the Titans responded with a Blair Schleisman three, starting a 7-0 run that gave them a 35-24 lead. Blair Schleisman hit another three, keeping the lead at 35-24. She added another three making it 38-28. Schleisman had a pair of free throws and the Titans were up 40-29 after the 3rd quarter. South Central Calhoun didn’t let Webster City get within single digits the rest of the game as Sadie Wheelock hit a three, pushing the lead to 47-34 midway through the 4th quarter. It grew to 49-35 on a bucket by Macie Dorman. Abby Kistenmacher scored late and Macie Dorman scored the final bucket, putting the Titans up 55-42.
Blair Schleisman paced the Titans with 24-points and 5 steals, Sadie Wheelock had 17-points and 4 steals and Macie Dorman added 10-points and 8 assists. Kenley Wuebker made several hustle plays that kept the Titans with possession of the ball or cut off easy baskets for Webster City.
The Titans improved to 4-8 overall and will travel to Humboldt on Tuesday.

Coon Rapids-Bayard Girls Basketball hosted Panorama on Tuesday evening for a non-conference matchup. The CRB girls have been on a roll recently, winning 7 straight. They started the game going back and forth with the Panthers, with the 1st ending in a Crusader 13-10 lead. In the 2nd is where CRB did what they do and locked down defensively. They would hold Panorama to 2 points in the whole quarter to take a 28-12 lead going into the break. The Crusaders and Panthers played it tight in the 3rd but with a huge 18-7 4th quarter, the Crusaders would pick up the 54-25 win at home. Anna Hart led the Crusaders with 21 points while Malia Clayburg added 17 points and 7 steals. CRB hosts a ranked Treynor squad on Thursday.
