The Spartans used a 12-4 run to end the 1st quarter to take the lead, then Taryn Petersen took over in the 2nd quarter as Exira-EHK took a 9-point lead into half on their way to a 12-point win. The Spartans led 14-13 after the 1st quarter after trailing 9-2 midway through the 1st quarter. They went off for 23-points in the 2nd quarter with Taryn Petersen scoring 16-points in the 2nd quarter. The Spartans offense was balanced behind Taryn Petersen with four girls scoring behind 9 and 15 in the game. The lead grew to 53-39 after the 3rd quarter and they were able to maintain the lead around double digits the rest of the game.

Taryn Petersen had a team high 30-points with Harlow Miller having 15-points, Jaelynn Petersen 10-points and Zoey Rasmussen and Kadence Brannan Sporrer both having 9-points.

Exira-EHK improves to 9-1 and will head to Ar-We-Va on Tuesday.

Tough 1st and 3rd quarters for Glidden Ralston put them in trouble against the 11th ranked Rebels, falling behind 20-6 at the end of the 1st quarter and outscored 21-6 in the 3rd quarter. They played even with Westwood in the 2nd and 4th quarters combining for a 33-34 score. They shot 43.9% from the floor but turned it over 20 times and were outrebounded 41-22, allowing 19 offensive rebounds.

Jenna Subbert led the Wildcats with 13-points to go with 5 rebounds while Chloe Peters added 12-points and 3 steals. Bryn Renze finished with 9-points and 5 rebounds and Olivia Squibb had 3 steals.

The Wildcats fell to 5-5 overall and will travel to Woodbine on Tuesday.

Noelia Gonzalez had a team high 5-points, Vivian Blackford had 4-points and Gabbie Hundling and Maddie Leiting both had 3-points. Mara Obrecht paced them on the boards with 6 rebounds and Vivian Blackford added 4 rebounds. Aubrie McCollough and Gabbie Hundling both had 2 steals.

The Rockets host 8th ranked Exira-EHK on Tuesday.
