Kuemper hosted Atlantic in a Hawkeye 10 matchup on Friday evening. The Knights came in with just 3 losses on the season, while the Trojans sat at 2-7 on the year. Kuemper did what Kuemper normally does on its hot nights, coming out hot early to jump out to a 21-4 lead after the first. The Trojans settled in during the rest of the matchup as they would get double-digits in each of the final 3 quarters, but Kuemper matched and outproduced them in each of the four quarters. The Knights put up 19 in the 2nd to mount a 40-17 lead at the break. The Knights would get every one of their players who suit varsity in the matchup and every single one of them recorded some sort of a stat as Kuemper got valuble varsity minutes to the future of the program. The Knights would pick up a big 75-44 win on their home floor to remain undefeated in conference play as they turn their attention to West Lyon at Dordt College Saturday evening.

Carroll and North Polk faced off in a Racoon River Conference game Friday Evening. The Tigers are coming off of their loss to #1 Ballard and looked to bounce back with a conference win to close the week. The Tigers came out and dominated early. Their defense was tough tonight and they forced 6 steals in the first quaretr and North Polk would not hit a field goal with a 24-1 lead for the Tigers. The Comets hit their first field goal with 6 minutes left in the 2nd and than went on to score 13 more and trail 41-16 at the half. Both teams scored similar in the 2nd half but Carrolls defense was amazing. They held North Polks top two scorers to 9 points which was well under their average. The Tigers also drilled 13 threes to pick up the 73-45 win at home.

Ar-We-Va and Paton-Churdan faced off on Friday evening. It was a battle of the Rockets with AWV at 6-4 coming in and PC at 4-5. P-C and AWV went back and forth early and things got chippy which allowed officiating to be called tighter to keep order. It was a very close game with tough defense. trevon Keely and Wyatt Ragaller face guarded eachother the length of the floor all night long. PC went into the 2nd with a 2 point lead, 13-11. The 2nd was exactly the same as Grant Wilken nailed a 3 to end the quarter trailing 26-25. Ar-We-Va came out hot in the 3rd and got to line line plenty. The Rockets had a 19-11 quarter to take the lead 44-37. They would hold a 7-10 point lead and pick up a 53-42 win on the road. AWV moves to 7-4 on the season while P-C falls to 4-6.

Audubon traveled down to take on AHSTW in a WIC matchup. The Wheelers came in on a 2 game wins streak during the week with wins over Red Oak and Logan-Magnolia. The Wheelers and Vikings came out neck and neck with a 14-12 lead for Audubon after 1. The score flipped back on it’s head as AHSTW went up 30-28 at the half. The Wheelers had their best offensive scoring quarter with 22 in the 3rd to give themselves a 10 point lead. The Wheelers closed out the night with a 63-51 win and go 3-0 on the week.

South Central Calhoun snapped a three game losing streak, rolling to a win at Storm Lake St Mary’s. The Titans defense held the Panthers scoreless in the 1st quarter and to 3-points in the 1st half. The offense was sollid, building a 23-3 lead at half with 12-points in the 1st quarter and 11-points in the 2nd quarter. They put the game away with a big 3rd quarter, outscoring the Panthers 17-6.
Evan Myers led the Titans in scoring with 14-points with Charlie Nattress and Garrett Krause both scoring 9-points. Cade Higgins finished with 6-points.
The Titans improved to 4-6 overall and will host Webster City on KIKD 106.7 on Monday.

The Crusaders shared the basketball well and were dominant on the glass with Ty Heydon breaking the school record for rebounds in a game with 26. They took control of the game in the 2nd quarter and stretched their lead in the 3rd quarter. Caden Oswald and Bryce Lewis had strong nights shooting the ball and Gavin Heiderscheit, Bennett Heiderschit and Jace Baker helped set the tempo defensively. The Crusaders held CAM to 6-points in the 2nd quarter, helping them extend a 16-14 lead at the end of the 1st quarter to 35-20 at half. The offensive flow was good in the 3rd. They got good looks and when they missed, they grabbed the rebound. They outscored CAM 23-15 to take a 58-35 lead into the final stanza.
This was a good team win for the Crusaders with everyone contributing in the win. Ty Heydon had an incredible game, setting a new single game School Record with 26 rebounds while adding 16-points. Caden Oswald had a team high 19-points with 7 assists while Bryce Lewis had 12-points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Cal Heydon pitched in with 11-points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.
They improved to 10-0 on the season heading into their home game with Panorama on Monday.

Emmetsburg took advantage of some defensive miscues in the 1st quarter to hit 4-3’s as they built a 21-5 lead at the end of quarter. East Sac adjusted on defense in the 2nd quarter and got a few shots to fall in the 2nd quarter as they began to attack the defense instead of setting for deep 3’s. Emmetsburg kept the offensive pressure on with a big 3rd quarter, outscoring the Raiders 17-7 to lead 51-21.
Weston Julin had a team high 7-points along with 5 rebounds and Beckem Kluver added 6-points. Jordan Ulmer contributed 5 rebounds and Zach Jacobsen had 5-points.
The Raiders fell to 1-8 overall and will host Storm Lake St Mary’s on Friday.
