The Coon Rapids Bayard defense was outstanding, holding a strong Earlham team to 21.7% from the field and 13.8% from beyond the arc, helping them pull away for a huge home win. The offense was effective with four guys in double figures and one more a point shy. They did a nice job on the board nearly doubling the rebounds for the Cardinals, though they did give up 13 offensive rebounds. The Crusaders had several players step up with Ty Heydon getting into foul trouble, though he played well while on the floor. Bennett Heiderscheit was big off the bench, bringing lots of energy. They put together four strong quarters on both sides of the court with Caden Oswald and Bryce Lewis having exceptionally good night on both sides of the floor. Jace Baker did a strong job defensively and Gavin Heiderscheit was really good on both sides of the floor. They led early, up by eight at the end of the 1st quarter before pulling away for a 33-16 lead at half. They dominated the 2nd half, outscoring the Cardinals 46-25.

Cal Heydon had a team high 20-points and 13 rebounds with Caden Oswald scoring 12-points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Bryce Lewis added 11-points and Gavin Heiderscheit finished with 11-points and 6 rebounds. Bennett Heiderscheit contributed 9-points and 5 rebounds and Ty Heydon had 6-points and 7 rebounds. Jace Baker pulled down 6 rebounds.

The Crusaders improved to 9-0 and will head to CAM on Friday.

The Rockets played with great energy all night, opening a comfortable lead in the 1st quarter, then rebounding after a tough 2nd quarter. Paton Churdan struggled on the glass at times, letting the door cracked open and West Bend Mallard made a run, outscoring them 17-7, cutting the Rockets lead to 30-24 at half. The defense settled back in during the 3rd quarter, leading to some good looks on offense. The Rockets led by nearly 20 entering the final stanza.

Cayden Stream had a big night offensively with 31-points to go with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Trevon Keely had 21-points with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Phoenix Hartman added 10-points, Blaise Schilling finished with 8-points and Donovan Martin added 7-points.

The Rockets sit 4-5 overall and will host Ar-We-Va on 93.7 KKRL on Friday.
