A fun game out of Carroll and Ballard on Tuesday evening. The Bombers came in at 2-7 while the Tigers sat at 4-4 on the season. The Bombers came out in a matchup zone and a full-court press, trying to speed up the Tigers in the full court and slow them to a halt in the front court. The Tigers struggled offensively as they fell behind 15-10 after 1. During the 2nd, both teams struggled to score, as each made mistakes on the offensive end due to the opposing team’s defense. The Tigers trailed 24-19 at the half. The Tigers came out ans switched their offense to pursue the down low game more with Chloe Kock having 4 points at half and 13 over the next 4 quarters. She would control most of the elbow to post offense as she dished passes out and scored as well. Ali Kock controlled the boards as well with the Tigers climbed back into the game to tie it after the 3rd. In the 4th, Analia Ayala had a pair of and-1’s when the Tigers trailed to keep them in and push OT. In the first OT, both teams were stagnant, and Ballard had 3 girls with 4 fouls and another with 3, while Carroll had 1 with 4, which took pressure off. The Tigers were able to pull away in the 2nd OT after some free throws, and the Bombers had 2 girls foul out. The Tigers pick up a 62-58 win and have North Polk on Friday

IKM-Manning struggled with the Vikings press in the 1st half and didn’t shoot well, falling behind by nine at half. The deficit grew to as many as seventeen in the 3rd but they kept battling, cranking up the defensive pressure, pounded the ball inside to Keagan Eischeid and pulled within three in the closing minutes before falling by 5.
The Wolves took the early lead with Keagan Eischeid and Karlee Arp each scoring a bucket inside, putting them up 4-1. The Vikings used a 4-0 run to grab the lead at 5-4 but Keagan Eischeid scored inside and IKM-Manning led 6-5. The Vikings scored the final three points of the 1st quarter and led 8-6 going to the 2nd quarter. Addisyn Bandow tied it at 8 for the Wolves but AHSTW went on a 7-0 run, then answered a free throw from Keagan Eischeid and a bucket from Anna Stangl with a 7-0 run and led 22-11 late in the 1st half. Keagan Eischeid scored before the half but the Wolves trailed 24-15 at half.
The Wolves were able to establish Keagan Eischeid inside early in the 3rd but AHSTW was scoring inside as well, building a 38-21 lead late in the 3rd. The Wolves increased their intensity on the defensive end, creating more offense. Keagan Eischeid scored three in a row at the free throw line, Oriah Meiners added a free throw and Anna Stangl drilled a three, pulling IKM-Manning within 38-29. A pair of Kadynce Ketcham free throws cut it to 39-30 at the end of the 3rd quarter. The late run spilled into the 4th quarter with Keagan Eischeid and Anna Stangl both scoring, pulling them within 39-34. The Vikings went back up 41-34 and 44-36 but Anna Stangl pulled them within 44-39 with a three and Karlee Arp scored inside, making it 44-41. Keagan Eischeid scored again and IKM-Manning was down 46-43 but the Wolves couldn’t get over the hump, falling 48-43.
Keagan Eischeid had a team high 21-points with 11 rebounds and Anna Stangl had 12 points and 5 rebounds. Addisyn Bandow battled foul trouble but finished with 9 rebounds.
The Wolves fell to 5-4 overall and 4-3 in the WIC. They travel to Tri Center on Tuesday.

Ar-We-Va hosted Missouri Valley in their second game back from the break. The Rockets came in at 0-8 in search for their first win of the season. The Rockets would fall 52-37 as they kept it close during the game. Mara Obrecht had 13 and 7 in a great game for the Rockets. Gabbie Hundling added 11 and 8 as well. The Rockets are off until Friday when they take on Paton-Churdan.

Coon Rapids-Bayard Girls hosted Boyer Valley on Tuesday evening. The Crusaders came in at 5-2 on the season after a game with Ar-We-Va to open up the 2nd half of the season. The Crusaders did not lose a step defensively, hammering BV all night on the defensive end. CRB also got their work done offensively, with Anna Hart recording 22, 11, and 9 steals. Malia Clayburg added 11 and 5. The Crusaders’ 3rd quarter is what they are all about as they held BV scoreless the entire way and scored 17 to pick up a 59-22 victory on their home floor. The Crusaders moved to 6-2 after the big win.

The Titans kept it close early as they had a good offensive game. The Falcons would go up 9-8 after 1. The Falcons pulled away offensively in the 2nd, going up 6 at the half to give themselves some breathing room. In the 3rd, the Titans slowed offensively to 3 points and gave up 14, making it a big lead for the Falcons. They would close out the game and pick up the 20-point win. The Titans fall to 2-8 on the year.

The Rockets and Tigers went back and forth in this matchup as PC has improved tremendously throughout this season, and the Tigers have sharpened up after the break. The Tigers went up 8-6 after 1. In the 2nd, the Rockets shot the ball very well and flipped the lead, taking a 23-21 lead at the break. In the 3rd, the offense slipped a little, which allowed a run to put the Tigers up 7. Woodbine closed the game on a 22-11 run to pick up the big 43-34 win on the road.

Glidden-Ralston was fighting from their back after the 1st and trailed by 5 going into the 4th The Wildcats would get it close but fall by 6, 56-50 on the road as Bryn Renze lead them in scoring with 12 points.
