Girls Wrestling Results Saturday, January 3rd

Audubon and Kuemper At Clarinda Tournament

Kuemper and Audubon had strong a day at the Clarinda Tournament on Saturday with Kuemper having five wrestlers finish in the top four and the Wheelers had five finish in the top three. Kuemper took 2nd place with 130.5 points, behind Clarinda with 156.5 points. Audubon was 5th with 116 points, just behind Creston, which was 3rd with 116.5 points. Kuemper was 21-19 in matches wrestled, led by Sadie Smith and Cara Schuette, who both finished in 2nd place. The Wheelers were 14-9 in matches wrestled, led by a pair of champions in Jordan Mulford and Macy Rasmussen.

Cara Schuette went 2-1 and Sadie Smith was 3-1 to lead the Knights. Schuette had a win by fall and a major decision while Smith garnered her 100th career win, earning three wins by fall. Madigan Hoyt and Lucy Potthoff both went 4-1 and both finished in 3rd place. Potthoff won all four of her wins by fall and Hoyt had two wins by fall, a tech fall and an injury default. Anna Schuette took 4th place, going 1-2. Aurora Badding added a 3-2 afternoon with three wins by fall.

Macy Rasmussen and Jordan Mulford both earned championships for Audubon. Rasmussen was 4-0 at 110-pounds with three wins by fall and an injury default. Mulford went 3-0 at 100-pounds with three wins by fall. Olivia Poldberg was 2-1, taking 2nd with both her wins by fall, Emma Korwes was 2nd, going 1-1 with her win by fall and Elena Harbour was 4-1 with all four wins by fall, finishing in 3rd.
