Kuemper faced off with Bishop Heelan in the second matchup of the catholic classic Friday night. The Knights came in at 4-2 and were without Brock Badding and Dylan Schon for this game. Heelan came in at 4-1 on the season with a loss to Sioux City East. The Knights fell behind early as Heelan mounted a 17-9 1st quarter. Heelan once again added 17 to take a 34-23 lead at the break. After the halftime break, it was when Kuemper made their money with a big 19-11 3rd quarter, leaving them trailing going into the 4th. Kuemper would trail by 2 after a made free throw with 7 seconds left. Ryan Clair caught an inbound in the left corner and drove baseline to get the basket with a foul to make an and-1. Clair nailed the free-throw to make it a Kuemper lead at 558-57. Griffin Glynn was fouled at the end and made one to finish up the game with a 59-57 win. The Knights will take on Dowling on Saturday at 4 PM.

Carroll hosted Bondurant-Farrar in a Rolling Valley Conference Varsity doubleheader for each team’s first game after the holiday break. Carroll came in at 3rd in the RVC with a 4-2 record. The Tigers had a big lead after 1, with a very fast-paced offense, leading 15-6. The Bluejays struck in the 2nd as they found easy open 3’s and were able to also get inside for a 24-23 lead at the break. Carroll struck back in the 3rd with a fast-paced game as they jumped out early and put on a press to outscore the Bluejays by 10. Carroll closed out the game with yet again a 10-point difference to pick up the 70-51 win and move to 5-2. They take on #1 Ballard on Tuesday.

Audubon Boys faced of with Riverside on Friday night in a conference matchup to open up 2026. The Wheelers came out hot as they knocked down some shots to take a 14-9 lead after 1. The script was flipped in the 2nd with a 15-9 run for Riverside for a 24-23 lead at the halftime break. It was a back and forth afair the entire way through the game as Audubon stormed back in the 3rd with a 5 point lead going into the 4th. Riverside was able to sneak away with the 54-52 win after a huge 4th quarter as the Wheelers fall to 4-5 on the season.
