Audubon won a game that was a game of quarters with the Wheelers dominating the 1st quarter, Greene County the 2nd quarter and Audubon the 3rd quarter. The Wheelers did enough in the 4th quarter to hold on for the win. The Wheelers largest lead was at the end of the 3rd, when Brody Schultes hit a three to make it 52-36. They led by 15 in the 1st half on a Jorgen Nowatzke bucket. Greene County never led but pulled within 4 at half.

Carson Wessel and Brody Schultes had back-to-back threes to open the game, giving Audubon a 6-0 lead. It grew to 9-0 on a bucket and free throw from Austin Christensen. The Wheelers pressure forced Greene County to rush shots and the Wheelers dominated the backboards early. The defense also created turnovers, turning them into easy buckets. Aiden Kjergaard made it 15-4 before the Wheelers kept stretching the lead with Jorgen Nowatzke scoring a bucket, followed by baskets from Carson Wessel and Nowatzke again. The Wheelers led 21-8 at the end of the 1st quarter and were in complete control of the game. Greene County hit a three early in the 2nd quarter and the Wheelers helped with several turnovers, helping the Rams chip away at the Wheelers lead. Brody Weber scored inside to push the lead to 23-11 but a 6-1 Rams run made it 24-19. Aiden Kjergaard hit a pair of free throws but a Ram three near half cut it to 26-22 at half.

Austin Christensen scored six straight points to start the 2nd half, pushing the lead to 32-22. A Brody Schultes three point play extended the lead to 37-25 and Jorgen Nowatzke pushed it to 39-25. The Rams kept battling back in the 3rd but the Wheelers kept their lead in double figures. The Wheelers took charge at the end of the 3rd quarter with Brody Schultes hitting a jumper and a three just before the horn for a 5-0 run, pushing the lead to 52-36. Sully McClain had a nice 4th quarter as the Wheelers held off a Rams rally. Greene County outscored the Wheelers 22-18 in the 4th quarter but never got closer than 9.

Austin Christensen had 16 points and 12 rebounds with 3 steals, Brody Schultes added 16 points and 4 assists. Carson Wessel scored 11 points with 4 assists and Jorgen Nowatzke had 10 points and 4 steals. Sully McClain chipped in with 9 points.

The Wheelers are 1-3 and will host Missouri Valley on Tuesday.

Ar-We-Va earned a road win with a great defensive effort, holding Boyer Valley to 1-point in the 1st quarte and 5-points in the 2nd quarter. The Rockets defense set the tempo but it also got them in foul trouble as both teams made a lot of trips to the free throw line. Ar-We-Va didn’t shoot free throws well, going 15-30. Ar-We-Va led 17-1 at then end of the 1st quarter but struggled to score in the 2nd quarter and led 25-6 at half. Boyer Valley outscored the Rockets 30-23 in the 2nd half but the Rockets still held on to win, improving to 3-1.

Hayden Studer led the Rockets with 16 points with Wyatt Ragaller adding 14 points and 5 rebounds. Derek Thomsen had 7 points and 5 rebounds and Devon Ehlers had a team high 8 rebounds.

The Rockets are 3-1 overall and 3-0 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They travel to Storm Lake St Mary’s on Tuesday.

Paton Churdan played extremely well in the 1st quarter and were in the game midway through the 2nd quarter before Tri Center pulled away. The Trojans closed the 1st half well and stretched their lead on Paton Churdan in the first-four minutes of the 2nd half. The Rockets trailed 19-18 at the end of the 1st quarter but found themselves down 44-25 at half. They are still battling with a few guys out with injuries and their depth began to wear down late in the 1st half and into the 2nd half.

Phoenix Hartman led the Rockets on offense with 15 points and Blaise Schilling and Damen Rice both had 9 point with Rice adding 5 rebounds. Bryce Stephenson led them with 7 rebounds with Landon Vote and Peyton Minnehan both having 5 rebounds.

The Rockets fall to 0-3 overall and are 0-2 in the Rolling Valley Conference. They head to CAM on Friday.

The Titans used a quick start to earn their second win of the season. They shot the ball well in the 1st quarter and were impressive on the defensive end, building a 23-8 lead. The Cougars tried to cut into the Titans lead in the 2nd half but South Central Calhoun held them off. The game was tight the rest of the game with the Titans outscoring the Cougars 44-43.

Garrett Krause had another strong game with a team high 21 points with Charlie Nattress scoring 18 points and Evan Myers added 11 points. Cade Higgins nearly gave South Central Calhoun four guys in double figures, scoring 8 points.

The Titans are 2-1 overall and 0-1 in the Twin Lakes Conference. The Titans host Webster City on KIKD on Tuesday.
