Girls Wrestling Results Thursday, December 4th
Audubon and Kuemper At Treynor Tournament
Kuemper had a strong night, winning the tournament with six girls finishing in the top 4, scoring 133.5-points to edge Missouri Valley, which finished in 2nd with 130.5-points. Audubon had three girls place in the top 3, scoring 65-points to finish in 6th place. The Knights were 19-13 in matches wrestled with 17 wins by fall along with a major decision and a tech fall. Audubon ended the tournament going 12-17 in matches wrestled with 11 wins by fall and a medical forfeit.
Aurora Badding and Sadie Smith of Audubon both went 3-0 with both winning all three of their matches by fall. Badding won the 190 pound weight class with Smith claiming the title in the 130 pound class. Lucy Potthof and Riley Sommerfeld both finished 2nd with both going 2-1. Potthoff won both of her wins by fall and Sommerfeld had a win by fall and a tech fall. Riley Massey and Cara Schuette both went 3-1 with Massey taking 3rd place, winning all three of her wins by fall and Schuette having 2 wins by fall and a major decision. Madigan Hoyt went 2-2 with both of her wins by fall, taking 4th place.
Macy Rasmussen was 3-0 for Audubon at 115, winning the weight class with all 3 of her wins by fall. Elena Harbour went 3-1, taking 3rd place with 2 wins by fall and a medical forfeit while Emma Korwes was 2-2 with both wins by fall, finishing in 2nd place. Yaris Huerta was 2-2 with both of her wins by fall.
