East Sac At Sioux Central Tournament
East Sac finished 4th at their first meet of the season with five girls wrestling at the Sioux Central Tournament on Friday. The Raiders went 6-8 in matches wrestled with five wins by fall and a major decision. Finla Vogel earned them a 1st place finish with their other four wrestlers all finishing in 3rd place.
Finla Vogel went 2-0 with both of her wins coming by fall. She won the 145 pound weight class, earning both wins over Ava Ney of Western Christian. She had pins at 3:09 and 4:00. Sophia Villegas went 3-2 on her night, earning all three wins by fall. The first win against Allayna Walrod of Akron Westfield came by fall at 1:08, she them defeated Ella Bleeker of Okoboji by fall in 0:46 and picked up a win in her last match, winning by fall in 3:45 over Cara Kerns of Pocahontas Area. Taelyn Johnson had the other win for East Sac, winning by major decision (16-6) over Peyton Hewitt of Akron Westfield.
