Girls Tennis Player of the Year
Charlotte Schwabe- Kuemper
Schwabe was dominant for Kuemper this season, sweeping most of her opponents and rarely dropping more than a game or two. Her ground game was outstanding, usually allowing her to over power her opponents. Schwabe had a tough first serve that put most of her opponents off balance early. She started the season ranked but quickly climbed the rankings and was ranked highly entering the postseason. She qualified for State, going 3-1 at the qualifying meet with a tough three set loss after winning the 1st set. Her showing at the State Meet was impressive, advancing into the quarterfinals, where she faced Gabi Jacobs of Shenandoah, who gave her a rare loss in the regular season. She lost to Jacobs in two sets but bounced back in the consolation bracket, going 2-0 with both matches 2-0 sweeps. She finished the season 5th at the State Meet.
