Girls State Qualifying Swimming Results Saturday, November 8th
Carroll At Ames
Carroll had a strong showing at the State Qualifying meet in Ames on Saturday, sending all three relays with six different girls qualifying for State. The day was highlighted with many time drops as the Tigers had their best meet of the season. They finished 5th overall with 200-points, behind Algona with 209-points. Ames won the meet with 476-points.
The 200 Free Relay and 400 Free Relay both move onto the State meet with the same four girls. The 200 Free qualified 24th with Brylie Behrens, Ava Hinote, Sophia Malone and Grace Schoonover. They finished 3rd on Saturday with a 1:44.90. The order changed a little in the 400 Free Relay, taking 4th with Ava Hinote, Brylie Behrens, Sophia Malone and Grace Schoonover. They swam a 3:54.54 and qualified 29th for State. The 200 Medley Relay qualified in 4th place with Harper Ladwig, Alexis Borkowski, Brylie Behrens and Sophia Malone, swimming a 1:58.61, qualifying in 28th.
Other top finishers for the Tigers on Saturday included, Grace Schoonover in 5th in the 100 Free, Brylie Behrens 6th in the 100 Fly and Ava Hinote 6th in the 100 Free along with Schoonover 6th in the 100 Back.
