Audubon put their 2nd round game away early on Friday night, scoring 40-points in the 1st quarter. They ran 16-plays in the 1st half, gaining 307-yards and scoring 8 touchdowns to lead 62-0 at half. The Wheelers defense was as dominant as the offense, if not more impressive. They allowed -5 rushing and 59-yards passing on 44 offensive plays, giving up just 3 first downs. The Wheelers ended the game with 402-yards rushing and 49-yards passing.
The scoring started early and happened quickly for Audubon. Aiden Kjergaard raced 38-yards on the second play of the game, putting the Wheelers up 8-0 with 11:18 left in the 1st quarter. Montezuma picked up a 1st down on their first possession but a sack by Brody Weber halted the drive and the offense struck again. Aiden Kjergaard broke off a 26-yard touchdown run, extending the lead to 16-0 with 8:05 left in the 1st quarter. Montezuma went for it on 4th and 2 on their next drive and were stopped short and Aiden Kjergaard scored on the next play, running 26-yards for a touchdown and Audubon was up 24-0 with 6:06 left in the 1st quarter. Another turnover on downs by Montezuma set up another Wheelers score in the 1st quarter. Aiden Kjergaard scored on a 13-yard run with 3:37 left in the quarter and the lead was 32-0. After a quick possession for Montezuma, Mason Kasperbauer scored from 13-yards and Audubon led 40-0 with 1:02 left in the quarter.
Aiden Kjergaard ran for a 42-yard touchdown run, Brody Weber scored on a 41-yard touchdown pass and Kjergaard ran for a 10-yard touchdown run in the 2nd quarter and Audubon led 62-0 at half. The continuous clock made the 2nd quarter and 2nd half go by fast with Audubon adding 8-yard touchdown run with Brody Otten in the 3rd, a 1-yard touchdown rush from Paxton Beane in the 4th and a 5-yard touchdown on the ground by Beane later in the 4th.
Aiden Kjergaard ran the ball 8 times for 167-yard and 5 touchdowns for Audubon. Brody Otten had 8 carries for 116-yards and touchdown. Mason Kasperbauer went for 95-yards on 7 carries with a pair of touchdowns. Brody Weber had 1 catch with 41-yards and a touchdown. Austin Christensen led the Wheelers defense with 4.5 tackles.
