State Girls Cross Country Results Friday, October 31st

Iris Melody ran for the South Central Calhoun Girls Cross Country team at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge, which is home to the State Cross Country Meet. The climate was a big factor during the morning, with a 10:30 start time. It was a chilly day with winds from the northwest, and it felt like the low 30s. Melody was a solo runner and was competing for the third time at the State Cross Country meet. Melody said afterward that it is one of her favorite courses to run, and she has become very familiar with it. Melody would get out pretty well. The 2A class was loaded with talented runners, with the winning time 18:20.7. Melody ran 22:10.2, which got her 105th. Melody wrapped up a stellar career for the Titans with three state-qualifying seasons and plenty of great runs. SCC brought a nice crowd as well to the course to cheer her on, which was shown afterward with plenty of support and plenty of familiar faces from the Titan Family.
