IKM-Manning Vs Janesville At Fort Dodge- Class 1A Region 5
Janesville 3
IKM-Manning 0
25-16, 25-18, 25-19
IKM-Manning saw their fantastic run end on Wednesday in a Regional Final, finishing the season 29-9. They played well most of the night, hanging tight with 2nd ranked Janesville until late in all three sets. The Wolves had leads of three and four in the 2nd and 3rd sets but the Wildcats closed all three sets on runs. The Wildcats did a nice job containing the Wolves hitters with a back row that covered well, forcing IKM-Manning to hit to areas they normally didn’t have too.
Janesville built an early 4-0 lead in set one before Keagan Eisheid got the Wolves within two with a kill. The Wildcats lead hovered around three to five points early in set one but Katelyn Bandow started a run for IKM-Manning with a kill as the Wolves pulled within 8-6. Keagan Eischeid kept them close with a kill, making it 9-7. Kills by Macy Gruhn, who went over 100 kills for the season, Karlee Arp and Addisyn Bandow kept IKM-Manning close with Bandow making it 13-11 Wildcats. Keagan Eischeid had her third kill of the set and IKM-Manning was in good shape, down 14-12. The Wildcats began to pull away at that point, closing the set on a 11-4 run to win 25-16.
A 3-0 start to set two, highlighted by a kill from Addisyn Bandow gave IKM-Manning momentum. The Wildcats responded with a 5-0 run, leading 5-3. Janesville maintained the lead, extending it to 15-10. IKM-Manning responded as they’ve done all season with Addisyn Bandow starting the run. A Caylie Rasmussen ace pulled the Wolves within 16-15 but a 6-0 Janesville run gave them separation as the Wildcats went on to win set two 25-18, taking a 2-0 lead.
IKM-Manning started set three with a 3-0 run and led 6-1 after a Katelyn Bandow block. Janesville responded after a Keagan Eischeid kill put the Wolves up 7-3 and tied the set at 7-7. They grabbed the lead at 8-7, pushing it to 10-7. Macy Gruhn had another kill to settle the Wolves and two kills by Addisyn Bandow, sandwiched around an ace from Olivia Linde and IKM-Manning tied the set at 12. The Wolves took the lead back at 14-13 with a kill from Keagan Eischeid, who kept them in front with a kill, making it 15-14. Janesville answered as they had done all match, going on a 5-0 run to lead 19-15. Keagan Eischeid gave the Wolves hope with a kill and Macy Gruhn pulled them within 22-18 but Janesville ended the match, winning 25-19.
Keagan Eischeid led the Wolves with 13 kills along with 8 digs and a team high 3 blocks. Karlee Arp had 22 assists and 12 digs. Addisyn Bandow added 7 kills, Anna Stangl had 11 digs, Olivia Linde 7 digs and Macy Gruhn, Katelyn Bandow and Ella Langel all had 2 blocks.

Coon Rapids-Bayard Vs Saint Ansgar – Class 1A Region 1
Saint Ansgar 3
Coon Rapids-Bayard 0
25-14, 25-19, 25-12
Coon Rapids-Bayard won their first two matches of the postseason to make the regional final. They faced #1 Saint Ansgar. It was a tough challenge for the Crusaders as Saint Ansgar has been a great team all season. Set 1 was all Saints, as they went up 6-0 early. The Crusaders would keep it close after two Malia Clayburg kills. The Crusaders trailed by 5-8 all the way through, but a 2-0 run at the end of the set gave the Saints the win, 25-14. Set 2 was completely different as it was close early. Saint Ansgar went up 2-0 before it was tied at 2, 3, and 4. CRB would take the lead with a Malia Clayburg kill and go on a 3-0 run to get separation. The Crusaders had their best passing and hitting during this stretch, going up 15-8 before a Saints timeout. The timeout worked in the Saints’ favor as they would go on a 12-0 run to go up 20-15. Maddy Mason would block a Saints attack to stop the momentum, but the damage was done as the Saints would win 25-19. Set 3 was close early again, but the Saints went up 7-1 after a 1-1 tie. It was not very close in Set 3 as Saint Ansgar went on runs to win 25-12 and win 3-0. The Crusaders end the season 25-3 with both an RVC regular-season and tournament championship.
