Coon Rapids-Bayard hosted West Bend-Mallard for the Class 1A Region 1 semifinals. West Bend-Mallard came in at 22-5 on the season while the Crusaders came in at 24-2. The Crusaders had homecourt for the matchup which helps in the postseason. Set 1 was the biggest margian of victory as the Crusaders jumped out early and held on for the 25-15 victory. Set 2 was very back and forth all the way through. The Crusaders leaned on Malia Clayburg who has lead them all year and would get 27 kills on the evening. They would win Set 2, 25-23. The Crusaders led 2-0 and played well all night. Set 3 was different as West Bend would stay neck and neck with the Crusaders and pull away for the 25-22 win in Set 3. Set 4 was once again back in favor of the Crusaders as they would win 25-20. Coon Rapids-Bayard picked up the 3-1 win and now head to a regional final at Algona high school to take on Saint Ansgar.

Audubon at St. Albert – Class 1A Region 6

Audubon hit the road for the Class 1A Region 6 semifinals. They traveled to Council Bluffs to take on the 16-15 St. Albert Saintes. Both teams were looking for the chance at a Regional Final. Audubon traveled very well and had a big section for an away game. St. Albert showed out just as much which made it that much more fun to be at. Set 1 was started out with a 2-0 lead for St. Albert before a kill from Harlow Miller and a miscue by the Saintes would tie it back up at 2. It would remain close as their was 4 more ties until a 5-0 run by the Saintes. St. Albert used Brooklynn Rutledge and Naomi Sherill on the outside as their big factors to win Set 1, 25-12. Set 2 was very different as 2 Kills by Harlow Miller and a couple of misses out of the Saintes made it a 4-0 lead for the Wheelers. The Wheelers would hang on for a little more as Harlow Miller would add two more kills, Riley Miller and Abby Wanser would add kills and Lucy Stanerson would get an ace. St. Albert was able to match and tie it up at 9 and 10. The Saintes would go up 18-13 before winning Set 2, 25-19. Set 3 was once again close. The Wheelers leaned on Harlow Miller on the outside as she would get many kills in Set 3. It was tied at 15 and 16 as it was neck and neck. It than became tied at 23 before a two point swing for the Saintes to win 25-23. St. Albert picked up a 3-0 win. Audubon finished the season at 16-18.

IKM-Manning At West Monona- Class 1A Region 5 Semifinals

IKM-Manning showed a lot of grit on Monday, advancing to the Regional Final Wednesday at Fort Dodge against Janesville. The Wolves struggled in the 1st set against the Spartans serve and offense, which had six players with a kill and five players with two or more kills in the opening set. They rebounded well in set two, improving their serve receive and taking away the Spartans tip and dump game. The Wolves pulled away late in set two to even the match at 1-1. They took an early lead in set three and never relinquished it, though West Monona tied it several times. IKM-Manning took charge early in set four and pulled away down the stretch to earn the 3-1 win.
The Wolves took a 2-0 lead in set one but struggled against the West Monona serve and fell behind 5-4. Ella Langel kept them close with a pair of kills but they trailed 10-7 before it stretched to 15-9. Katelyn Bandow had a kill to stop the run and the Wolves chipped away with Keagan Eischeid serving back-to-back aces, pulling them within 17-15. West Monona came out of a timeout, pushing their lead to 20-15 on their way to a comfortable 25-17 win.
Addisyn Bandow splashed on the scene early in set two with a pair of kills as the Wolves led 4-1. West Monona rallied and took a 7-6 lead, stretching it to 10-6. Addisyn Bandow and Katelyn Bandow each had a kill and Keagan Eischeid added a kill, cutting the deficit to 11-10. A Katelyn Bandow block and kill tied the set at 12 and IKM-Manning went back ahead 13-12. It didn’t last long as West Monona went back up 15-14. The Wolves responded and went up 18-17 pushing it to 22-18 on a Addisyn Bandow kill. Bandow added back-to-back kills to help the Wolves even the match with a 25-19 win.
The Wolves went up 1-0 in set three but fell behind 5-4. Keagan Eischeid tied it with a kill and Addisyn Bandow put the Wolves ahead for good. Kills from Macy Gruhn, Addisyn Bandow and Katelyn Bandow along with an ace by Karlee Arp and the Wolves were ujp 10-7. The Spartans tied the set at 10 and 16 buty Addisyn Bandow put the Wolves back up three with a pair of kills, making it 19-16. Olivia Linde kept the Wolves in the lead with an ace and Addisyn Bandow and Keagan Eischeid had kills with Eischeid ending it with a kill, winning the set 25-20.
It looked like IKM-Manning might run away in set four, going up 4-0. West Monona pulled with 4-2 and 5-4 before a Katelyn Bandow kill made it 6-4. The Wolves kept the lead at two before pulling away. Katelyn Bandow started their run with a kill, making it 13-10. The Wolves went on a 6-0 run to lead 17-10 and they wouldn’t look back. Anna Stangl had an ace to give them a 23-13 lead and Addisyn Bandow ended the match with a pair of kills.
Addisyn Bandow had a team high 19 kills with Keagan Eischeid adding 14 kills with 13 digs and 2 aces. Katelyn Bandow was huge with 7 kills and 3 blocks and Karlee Arp finished with 42 assists and 6 digs. Ella Langel added 6 kills and Olivia Linde had 7 digs.
The Wolves improved to 29-8 and will face Janesville in Fort Dodge on Wednesday in the Regional Final on 93.7 KKRL. Janesville beat Rockford 3-0.

East Sac played well on Monday but ran into a very strong Aplington Parkersburg team that played at a very high level on Monday, sweeping the Raiders. The Raiders got off to a slow start in the opening set and the Falcons took advantage, earning a 25-8 win. They showed improvement in the final two matches but lost 25-12 and 25-16. Katelyn Schmitt hit a milestone in the loss, finishing her career with exactly 500 kills, with 6 on Monday. She added 9 digs. Sarah Bontrager had 11 digs to lead the back row with Tori Hauser, who added 7 digs and Brooke Burns and Jordin Carroll both had 6 digs with Carroll adding 3 kills and 18 assists. Emerson Ludwig had 8 kills and Miranda Gerdes added 5 kills.
The Raiders end their season at 18-15. Aplington Parkersburg will take on Riverside on Wednesday in the Regional Final.
