Brincks Exteriors Sports Report: Carroll Dominant in Clinching District Title on Friday

Carroll High wins a Class 3A district title with a 35-7 win over Atlantic in a battle of 3-0 teams (in district play) at Carroll Athletic Field on Friday, October 24, 2025.

Carroll clinched a district title with a dominant win over Atlantic on Friday as the defense created four turnovers and the offense ran for 271-yards and went 4-4 in the passing game. A perfectly executed fake punt helped the Tigers stretch the lead. They blew it open with an interception and touchdown on the next possessions for each team and cruised to the win. The defense had a great night, holding Atlantic to 106-yards passing and 71-yards rushing. The Trojans came into the game leading the district in rushing and with the leading rusher in the district.

The Tigers offense set the tempo on the ground on their opening drive, marching the ball down the field with great patience. They went 65-yards on 8-plays after a strong kick return by Chase Schable. Gavin Holt ended the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run with 8:13 left in the 1st quarter and Carroll led 7-0. The Tigers had a chance to take command as Myles Pudenz recovered a fumble as the Atlantic 21-yard line. Carroll looked like they may score again but the Tigers fumbled and Atlantic recovered at their own 11-yard line. The Tigers defense held firm but Carroll muffed the punt and Atlantic recovered at the Tigers 35-yard line. The Trojans took advantage of the Tigers only turnover of the half, driving 35-yards in 10-plays with Ethan McNeal scoring on a 5-yard run. The game was tied at 7-7 with 8:33 left in the half. Carroll responded on their next drive, going 67-yards in 8-plays with Carroll hammering the left side until Camden King scored on a 3-yard run, giving them a 14-7 lead at half.

Atlantic got the ball to start the 2nd half and had a drive going but Carroll dug in and forced a punt, giving Carroll the ball on their own 28-yard line. Carroll looked like they were going to be stopped short of midfield but Carroll ran a fake punt and Adam Malik ran for a 26-yard gain, giving the Tigers a 1st down. Malik would end the 9-play drive with 2:25 left in the 1st quarter with a 3-yard touchdown run. Carroll led 21-7 with 2:25 left in the 3rd quarter. Mac Collison changed the game for good with an interception on the Trojans next possession and Carroll capitalized with a Camden King finding Kieran Polking for a 15-yard touchdown. Carroll led 28-7 with 9:24 left in the game. Atlantic tried to get back into the game but a long 11-play drive that started at their own 32-yard line. The Tigers defense came up big, holding the Trojans on downs at the Tigers 26-yard line. Adam Malik broke off his biggest run of the game, scoring on a 74-yard run and Carroll put the game out of reach with 5:28 remaining. Mac Collison and Tallon Crandall added interceptions on the Trojans last two possessions.

Adam Malik went for 208-yards on 23 carries with 2 rushing touchdowns to lead the Tigers. Camden King ran for 65-yards and a touchdown along with going 4-4 passing for 68-yards and a touchdown. Quinten Polking led the defensive effort with 10.5 tackles with 6 solo. Mac Collison added a pair of interceptions and Gavin Holt scored a touchdown on the first carry  of his career.

Carroll will host Nevada after the Kuemper game this Friday in the 1st round of the Class 3A Playoffs. Carroll sits 6-3 on the season.
