Boys State Qualifying Cross Country Results Thursday, October 23rd

East Sac At Emmetsburg- Class 1A

East Sac accomplished one of their goals on Thursday, qualifying as a team for the State Cross Country Meet. The Raiders earned another hard fought win over Sioux Central as the two teams dominated the field. The Raiders took 2nd, 3rd and 4th along with having five runners in the top 15. East Sac won the meet with 33-points with Sioux Central in 2nd with 42-points. The Rebels had three runners in the top 8 and their top five in the top 16. Landon Sporrer was 2nd, seconds out of 1st place, running a 16:38.7, just behind Lucos Wernimont of Sioux Central, who ran a 16:35.3. Riley Aragon was 3rd in 17:16.1 and Owen Engel was 4th in 17:22.7. Oliver Engel added a 11th in 18:27.0 and Xander Hemer took 15th, running a 18:42.9.

IKM-Manning At ACGC- Class 1A

IKM-Manning finished just short of qualifying as a team, taking 3rd place with 107-points, not far behind Nodaway Valley, which was 2nd with 93-points. Riverside, which is ranked #1 won the meet with 29-points. Camden Morris led the Wolves in 14th with a 17:26.88 with Akeo Maynard taking 20th in 18:06.94 and Xaviore Diaz was 21st, running a 18:12.96. Haven Weers of Tri Center took 1st, running a 16:11.74 with Dawson Henderson in 2nd with a 16:27.13. Riverside had four runners in the top 9.

South Central Calhoun At Eagle Grove- Class 2A

A young South Central Calhoun team saw their season come to an end on Thursday as they finished 13th at the meet in Eagle Grove. The Titans ended the meet with 355-points. Denver was the team champion with 43-points and Okoboji was 2nd with 95-points. Declan Spencer, a freshman led the Titans in 38th with a 18:48.57 with Trent Thielen in 71st and Joe Thielan in 81st. Jesse Gomez of Denver won the meet in 16:48.00 and Jonah Pringnitz of Garner Hayfield was 2nd in 16:54.98.
