Kuemper At Gilbert At Iowa State University- Class 3A
Kuemper ran well at the Iowa State Course on Wednesday at the State Qualifying Meet with four runners under 18:00.00 but it wasn’t enough as they finished 6th as a team in a loaded field. The Knights tied North Polk with 163-points, with North Polk finishing in 5th and Kuemper 6th. Gilbert won the meet with 28-points and Des Moines Christian was 2nd with 51-points. Dayton Wiederien led the Knights, running a 17:10.45, good enough to finish in 22nd with Fletch Badding taking 25th in 17:24.22. Wyatt Wunschel (17:57.93) and Hayden Krieger (17:59.93) both broke the 18:00.00 mark. Caleb Ten Pas of Des Moines Christian ran a 14:45.66 to win the meet with Logan Bleich of Gilbert in 2nd with a 14:50.51. Gilbert had three of the top four runners and Des Moines and Gilbert swept the top 5.
