A flurry of Ar-We-Va touchdowns midway through the 1st quarter blew the game open and they never looked back in clinching a playoff berth with a blowout win. The Rockets scored five touchdowns in less than six minutes with Wyatt Ragaller scoring all five. The first came with 8:05 left in the 1st quarter on a 9-yard run. Ragaller added a 5-yard touchdown with 6:12 left, a 45-yard touchdown run with 4:52 left, a 17-yard rushing touchdown run with 2:54 and finally an 11-yard run with 2:13 left in the quarter as Ar-We-Va went ahead 34-0. Devon Ehlers added a 3-yard touchdown run to close the 1st quarter with 0:37 left and Ar-We-Va led 41-0 going into the 2nd quarter. The Rockets defense was fantastic on Friday, intercepting four Cougar passes and holding CAM to 44-yards rushing. Ar-We-Va took advantage of the short field and aggressive defense, scoring on every possession in the 1st quarter.
Johnathan Riesselman scored on a 14-yard run with 10:32 left in the 1st half and Wyatt Ragaller scored on a 40-yard run with 6:21 left in the half and Ar-We-Va built a 54-0 lead at half. CAM got on the board in the 3rd before Ragaller added the final two of his eight touchdown runs with 0:50 left in the 3rd and his biggest run of the game, scoring on a 79-yard run with 8:15 left in the game.
Ar-We-Va ran for 306-yards on 22 carries, averaging 13.9-yards per carry. They only passed the ball four times, completing all four. They held the Cougars to 179-yards passing and 44-yards rushing.
Wyatt Ragaller scored 8 rushing touchdowns with 285-yards on the ground. He added a pair of interceptions on defense. Grant Wilken had 1 catch for 19-yards. Damon Thomsen led the defense with 8 tackles while Tyson Von Glan had 2.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
The Rockets end the regular season 5-3 and will head to Gladbrook Reinbeck on Friday in the 1st round of playoffs.
