
Boys Cross Country Results for Thursday, October 16th
Kuemper at Hawkeye 10 Conference Meet
Kuemper had a long road trip down to Shenandoah for the Hawkeye 10 conference meet. The Knights were looking to do well before they head to Gilbert next Wednesday for the State Qualifying meet. Kuemper ran well as they had Dayton Wiederien finish in 8th with a time of 17:06.86. Fletch Badding would be their second runner as he finished in 16th with a time of 17:50.13. The Knights would have runners finish in 28th, 34th, and 36th to round out their team. The Knights would finish very close together which is a good sign as they would finish well. The Knights as a team would finish in 3rd with 122 team points. Red Oak would take 1st with 71 team points. 16:03.25 would be the winning time as well which came from Kevin Coots of Lewis Central. The Knights are off now until next Wednesday at 4 pm when they run their state qualifying meet at Gilbert.

East Sac and South Central Calhoun at Twin Lakes Conference Meet
East Sac and South Central Calhoun would compete in their conference meet at Sioux Central. Both teams were looking to go into their state qualifying meets with more confidence and momentum. The Titans would finish in 7th out of the 8 teams as they were led by Declan Spencer. Spencer would finish in 16th and ran a time of 19:27.1. Spencer had been their leader in plenty of their meets so far on the year. Joe Thielen would step up and take 29th with a time of 20:47.7. SCC would have runners take 38th, 40th, and 45th as they would score 167 team points. East Sac had a very nice night running. The Raiders had Landon Sporrer finish in 2nd with a 17:26.2, Riley Aragon in 3rd with a 17:38.8, and Owen Engel in 4th with a 17:48.6. The Raiders than had Xander Hemer take 17th and Oliver Engel take 24th. The Raiders would continue their excellent season with a conference title as they would narrowly beat Sioux Central. East Sac would get 50 team points and come home with some hardware. Both teams will compete at their state qualifying meet next Thursday.
