Exira-EHK started well in the first-two sets but weren’t able to hold off an Atlantic rally in set two, then fell behind early in sets three and four, falling 3-1. The Spartans were dominant at times in the first two sets but struggled in serve receive and had a hard time containing Reese Harlan when she was in the front row for Atlantic. They nearly rallied to steal set four after trailing 18-7, grabbing a late lead before the Trojans ended the match on a 6-2 run.
Jaelynn Petersen started the night with a kill and Taryn Petersen followed that with an ace serve as the Spartans built a 2-0 lead. Atlantic stormed back, going up 4-2. Jaelynn Petersen kept Exira-EHK close early, then tied it at 6 and gave them the lead for good with an ace serve. Jaelynn Petersen had 9 kills and Taryn Petersen had 6 kills in set one as the Spartans pulled away to win 25-19. The set was tied at 10 before Exira-EHK went on a 9-1 run to lead 19-11. Jaelynn Petersen had five kills and a block and Brooklynn Snider had an ace during the run. Taryn Petersen had a kill, making it 19-11. Atlantic called timeout and went on a run, pulling within 20-15 but Exira-EHK responded with a kill from Taryn Petersen and they pulled away winning on a Bryli Petersen block.
Taryn Petersen had a kill and Jaelynn Petersen had a pair of kills as the Spartans went up 4-0 in set two. Atlantic went on a 6-1 run to lead 6-5, extending it to 12-7. The Spartans struggled to get in system the rest of the set with only three kills the rest of set. Taryn Petersen made it 17-10 and pulled them within 24-15 while Jaelynn Petersen had a kill, pulling them within 22-14. Atlantic maintained the lead around 7-10 points most of the set two after getting up 17-10.
Jaelynn Petersen had a kill to start set three but the Spartans fell behind 4-1. They rallied with Jaelynn Petersen having a pair of kills to pull within 5-4, then tied the set at 5, 9 and 10, then went up 11-10. Taryn Petersen had a kill to keep then up by 1. Jaelynn Petersen pushed it to 14-12 but Atlantic held close and took t he lead at 18-17. Taryn Petersen had a pair of kills, tying it at 18 and 19 but Atlantic ended the set on a 6-1 run to win 25-20.
Exira-EHK rallied after a very slow start to set four. They fell down 10-2 and were down 18-7 with only two kills and a block for offensive points. A timeout settled the Spartans down and Taryn Petersen had five kills to help them pull within 19-16. Jaelynn Petersen had three straight kills and the set was tied at 19. The Spartans went up 20-19 but Atlantic responded with a 4-0 run and ended the match with a 25-22 win.
Jaelynn Petersen had a game high 22 kills with 9 digs while Taryn Petersen had 18 kills and 14 digs. Zoey Rasmussen finished with 39 assists with 5 digs and Bryli Petersen had 15 digs and 2 blocks.
The Spartans fall to 10-11 overall and will head to the Rolling Valley Conference Tournament on Saturday.

Audubon cruised to a win in the first round of the conference tournament, dominating sets one and three and earning a tight win in set two. They hit .330 with 45 kills and served a 93.2% accuracy with 7 aces to 5 errors. They had eight blocks as they controlled the match from all levels. The Wheelers had eight players finish with a kill and five had a block. They held AHSTW to 7-points in set one and 11 in set two.
Harlow Miller and Kadence Brannan Sporrer had a good match swinging at the net with Miller hitting .452 with 18 kills and Sporrer adding 10 kills with a .318 kill efficiency. Anna Larsen finished with 30 assists and 4 aces with 9 digs. Kadence Brannan Sporrer had 20 digs and Harlow Miller added 10 digs and 3 blocks. Mackayla Zuniga finished with 9 digs and 5 aces. Lucy Stanerson had 3 blocks with Anna Larsen, Harlow Miller and Riley Miller all having 2 aces.

Audubon fell short against undefeated Riverside, falling in three sets with set two a tight 25-19 loss. Riverside held the Wheelers to a .049 kill efficiency with only Harlow Miller hitting above .000. Harlow had 12 kills, hitting .423, making only 1 error. Audubon struggled some in serve with 6 errors and a 87% serve efficiency. Riverside used several runs to earn a 25-10 win in set one and 25-15 in set three.
Harlow Miller had 12 kills and 5 digs with Anna Larsen adding 19 assists and 8 digs. Mackayla Zuniga added 12 digs and Kadence Brannan Sporrer had 5 digs.
The Wheelers sit 13-15 as they head into consolation play at IKM-Manning on Tuesday.

IKM-Manning suffered a disappointing loss on Monday in their first game of the Western Iowa Conference Tournament. The Wolves dropped two close sets but rallied to extend it to four sets with a 25-17 win in set three. The Wolves struggled hitting most of the match, finishing with a .097 kill efficiency. They defended well at the net, ending the night with 13 blocks with six different players having a block. Missouri Valley did a nice job in serve receive, keeping themselves in system, helping them to control most of the match.
Keagan Eischeid had a strong night in the lass with 11 kills and 22 digs. Macy Gruhn had one of her best nights, finishing with 7 kills. Addisyn Bandow and Ella Langel both had 6 kills. Anna Stangl paced the back row with 28 digs with Caylie Rasmussen adding 18 digs and Karlee Arp having 11 digs to go with 32 assists. Katelyn Bandow led the Wolves with 4 blocks with Addisyn Bandow, Karlee Arp, Macy Gruhn and Keagan Eischeid all having 2 blocks.
The Wolves sit 22-8 and will host the consolation bracket on Tuesday.
