Ar-We-Va took care of business quickly on Friday night, then got help as they jumped into the hunt for second place in the district. The Rockets faced a Tigers team that had been struggling to stop teams, giving up over 70-points in three of their last four games. The game was decided in the 1st quarter with Ar-We-Va putting 41-points on the board.
Wyatt Ragaller had a big game offensively and on special teams. He ran for 118-yards and four touchdowns, had a 55-yard touchdown reception and ran two punts back for touchdowns. Devon Ehlers added a big night running the ball with 83-yards and a touchdown on four carries. Grant Wilken was effective in the passing game, completing 4-5 passes for 82-yards and a touchdown. The Rockets defense held Griswold scoreless in the 1st half with a strong team effort. Ar-We-Va outscored the Tigers 15-12 in the 2nd half after leading 48-0 at half.
Ar-We-Va moves to 3-3 overall and 3-2 in 8-Man 9 and are currently 1-game behind Coon Rapids Bayard for 2nd place. The Rockets step out of district this Friday and travel to Newell Fonda.
