Addy Anthofer, Kuemper Catholic High School – Class of 2027
Sports(s): I am involved in Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, and Dance.
Favorite athletic memory: I can not just pick one favorite memory, but I can say that my favorite most memorable year of volleyball was my sophomore season. Playing with my best friends on the court while also making many memories at practice and on road trips, beating Lewis Central at home was huge, beating des monies Christian at home on the road to state, and the entire state experience is something I will never forget.
What is your favorite aspect of being a student-athlete: My favorite aspects of being an athlete are the discipline and routine it gives me. Even with tough schedules, showing up for the team builds commitment and responsibility. I value being a good teammate, encouraging others, and setting a positive example. Athletics also keeps me active and healthy, which I’m thankful for. But my top two aspects are the friendships I’ve made and the competition. I’m very competitive, and that drive to win pushes me to succeed in other areas of life as well. The friendships I’ve built through sports are ones and I’m sure others can agree are different than normal friendships and they last for a long time.
Favorite Junk Food/Candy: Favorite junk food is yogurt with choclate chips and candy is white reeses but holiday editions.
Favorite Movie and why: 10 things I hate about you. I dont know the reason I just love the movie and I always have it on replay in my room when i go to bed.

What are your plans after high school: I have no specific plans for after high school but I have a few dreams. My dream is to go to the university of Miami or UCSF which is a great medical school in California. Sports in college have never been in the picture but who knows maybe in a year that will change. All i know is that I want to work in a hospital and move somewhere warm.
Dream Job and Why: My dream job is to be a pediatrician because I love working with kids and want to help them stay healthy as they grow. I think it’s a career where I can make a real difference for children and their families, which I find so rewarding. My aunt works at the Iowa Children’s hospital in Iowa City and that has been one of the people that has inspired and motivated me to look into the medical world.
