Kuemper had a big week for Football. They had their homecoming, district opener, and hosted a ranked opponent in OABCIG Friday night. Both teams play different styles of ball as the Falcons use a ground and pound style of offense between Raif Jensen and Kade Spotts. Kuemper is all around with a ground attack led by Jarin Hoffman along with a passing game led by Brock Badding. OABCIG came in on defense and got a stop and made the Knights punt their opening drive away. The Falcons came down and punched in a TD as well as the 2-PT to take an 8-0 lead in the first. The Knights would come back and get a touchdown of their own from Braxton Vonnahme to trail 8-7 going into the 2nd quarter. The score would be the same in the 2nd with the Falcons getting a TD and 2-PT and the Knights getting a 2nd Touchdown from Braxton Vonnahme to trail 16-14 going into halftime. Vonnahme had a hugegame with 4 catches for 142 yards and 2 TD’s. He would be shadowed by Jaxx Dejean in the 2nd half which opened up Griffin Glynn and Brayton Alford in the 2nd half. The Knights would strike early in the 2nd and go up 21-16. OABCIG QB Raif Jensen would get a 20 yard rush TD in the middle of the third to make it 22-21 Falcons. Kuemper turned it around again and scored late in the 3rd to take a 28-22 lead into the 4th. After a slow and defensive 1st half, the scoring turned way up in the 2nd. Kuemper would add 15 in the 4th and shut out the Falcons to win 43-22. The Knights offense was hot with Brock Badding going for 311 yards and 4 TD’s. Jarin Hoffman rushed for 109 yards and 2 TD’s.
