IKM-Manning missed an opportunity to score early and take the lead on the road but weren’t able to capitalize and Woodbury Central slipped past the Wolves in a matchup of two teams that are playing like playoff teams. The Wildcats used the short field throughout the game to their advantage while IKM-Manning had to make long sustained drives to get on the board. Woodbury Central scoring drives consisted of 21-yards, 40-yards and 25-yards while IKM-Manning went 67-yards and 95-yards. IKM-Manning ran for 80-yards and passed for 216-yards, outgaining the Wildcats, which finished with 153-yards rushing and 141-passing for 294-yards to 296-yards for IKM-Manning.
Woodbury Central scored late in the 1st quarter, scoring on an 12-yard run by Abe McGill with 0:23 left in the 1st quarter. They took advantage of a short field, going 21-yards in 3-plays. The Wolves hurt themselves with three turnovers in the game, though the defense came up with a pair of turnovers, getting them the ball back. Woodbury Central took a 7-0 lead into the half with both defenses playing well. The game remained tight until late in the 3rd when Woodbury Central scored twice in the final 2:58.
