IKM-Manning knocked off their second straight ranked team on the road in the Western Iowa Conference, downing 14th ranked Missouri Valley in four sets. The Wolves battled hard but dropped the 1st set 25-21. They bounced right back, outplaying the Big Red in set two to even the match at 1 with a 25-17 win. The Wolves won the battle at the net, hitting .205 while holding Missouri Valley to a .104 kill efficiency. The IKM-Manning front row did a nice job controlling the play at the net, allowing the back row to make plays. The Wolves ended the night with 53 digs, averaging 13.3 digs per set. They dominated set three, winning 25-11 and took the momentum from the wins in sets two and three to roll to a 25-16 win on set four. IKM-Manning was aggressive with their serve, getting 13 aces while serving 85.9%. Their aggressive serves forced Missouri Valley to play out-of-system. 

Addisyn Bandow and Keagan Eischied both had 14 kills for the Wolves with Ella Langel adding 8 kills. The back row was led by Anna Stangl with 15 digs to go with a pair of aces and Caylie Rasmussen, who had 12 digs and 2 aces. Keagan Eischeid pitched in with 9 digs and a pair of aces. Karlee Arp had another strong setting night against a ranked team with 39 assists while adding a team high 4 aces. Katelyn Bandow paced the Wolves block with 4 of the teams 8. 

IKM-Manning sits at 7-1 on the season and will be at the Carroll Tournament on Saturday.

East Sac had a triangular up in Storm Lake with St. Marys and Manson NW Webster. East Sac would face Manson first in what was an excellent night for the Raiders. East Sac would fall in a lengthy Set 1 27-25. After a big Set 1, they would bounce back and take Set 2 25-15. This momentum carried into Set 3 with a 25-22 victory as well. They would cap off the big swing in momentum with a 25-19 win in Set 4 and take it all 3-1. Sarah Bontrager led the team with 24 Digs. Katelyn Schmitt had seven kills, with three digs. Jordin Carroll would add 24 assists as the Raiders start 1-0 in the triangular.

East Sac entered this matchup 1-0 after defeating Manson in Game 1. A huge matchup here for the Raiders as they played really well in this one. East Sac would jump out ahead early and keep it together for a 25-18 win in the first set. They would have yet another close loss in Set 2 with St. Mary’s taking it 26-24. East Sac would battle back and take Sets 3 and 4, 25-16 and 25-19. The Raiders would go perfect on the night. It was 23 serve aces with eight from Jordin Carroll and seven from Lily Rodman that propelled East Sac to a huge night.

Glidden-Ralston faced off with conference mate CAM on Thursday night. It was a very evenly matched game with CAM at 3-8 and Glidden-Ralston at 3-5. Set 1 went to Glidden as they would take a 1-0 lead with a 28-26 victory. CAM would reverse it in Set 2 and win 28-26 themselves. The Wildcats would continue the back and forth, responding with a 25-18 win in Set 3. CAM would go on a run late in Set 4 to win it 25-21. They would then dominate Set 5, 15-5 for the 3-2 win. Kassidy Wenck led the Wildcats with 10 Kills and 17 Digs, along with four aces.

Audubon traveled to Riverside to face the undefeated and number 7-ranked Bulldogs. It was a hard matchup for the Wheelers as Riverside is a class above and a very good program. This showed as Riverside came out fast and won Set 1 25-11. Audubon struggled in Set 2 as they fell 25-9. Audubon’s serve recieve struggled as two bulldogs had 4 aces on the night. The Wheelers would fall in 3 after the 3rd Set loss, 25-13. The Wheelers fall to 6-5.

South Central Calhoun fell in three sets on the road on Thursday in a Twin Lakes Conference match. The Titans struggled to find a rhythm until the final set, falling 25-22, having competed well. Sadie Wheelock paced the Titans attack with 5 kills and Blair Schleisman added 4 kills, Sydney Stuart finished with 13 assists and 9 digs with Macie Dorman and Morgan McChesney both having 9 digs. Olivia Wiese would add 8 digs as Emmetsburg kept the pressure on the Titans with a balanced attack, hitting .235 with four girls between 5 and 8 kills.

The Titans fell in three sets to West Bend Mallard on Thursday with Olivia Wiese and Sadie Wheelock both having a team high 5 kills, Blair Schleisman added 4 kills and 12 digs. Macie Dorman had a strong match in the back row with 13 digs, helping Sydney Stuart who had 13 assists and 12 digs. Morgan McChesney contributed 11 digs. 

The Titans fall to 6-15 on the season and will head to the Carroll Tournament on Saturday.

Coon Rapids Bayard used a 7-0 run in set one to pull away and cruise to a sweep of Ar-We-Va in a Rolling Valley Conference match. Ar-We-Va battled hard, keeping the 1st set close prior to the Crusaders run. The Crusaders serve kept the Rockets out of system as Coon Rapids Bayard finished with 9 aces. Malia Clayburg had a strong night hitting the ball, picking up 9 kills in set three to finish with 24 kills overall and a .656 efficiency.

The 1st set was tied at 7 when Coon Rapids Bayard went on a 7-0 run and won the set 25-11. The Crusaders controlled set two and had a good lead in set three before Ar-We-Va battled back with a good service run by Mara Obrecht. The Crusaders responded with Clayburg getting three straight kills and they went on to win 25-13 to complete the sweep. 

Malia Clayburg led all players with 24 kills to go with 17 digs, Amelia Eddy had 37 assists and 8 digs, Anna Hart added 16 digs and Ashtyn Klocke had a strong service night with 4 aces. 

Mara Obrecht and Morgan Berg paced the Ar-We-Va attack with 3 kills each. Addison Bierl had 7 assists and Vivian Blackford and Mara Obrecht both had 3 digs. 

Coon Rapids Bayard improves to 9-0 and will head to the OABCIG Tournament on Saturday. Ar-We-Va slips to 0-9 and will play at the Boyer Valley Tournament on Saturday.
