Audubon hosted a good WIC opponent in Underwood on Tuesday night. It was a different look for the Wheelers as they faced Underwood for the first time this year. Underwood came into the match 6-10 on the year. Audubon came in 6-4. Underwood came out hot and would take Set 1 25-19. Carly Nelson led the Eagles in kills with 13 on the night. On the flip side, Harlow Miller led the game with 14 Kills and had an excellent night for the Wheelers. Set 2 was closer as the Wheelers would pick up some steam, but the Eagles closed out the Set 25-21 for the win. Underwood finished the 3-0 sweep 25-17 in Set 3 and improved to 7-10 on the year. Audubon falls to 6-5.

What a matchup between Exira-EHK and Woodbine. Both teams are very talented, and it showed tonight. Woodbine was the ones that came out hot. Woodbine would take Set 1 25-20. The Spartans leaned heavily on the upper classman with Jaelynn and Taryn Petersen. Both girls would get over 20 kils and have well over 30 attempts. Set 2 would be the same for the Spartans as they would fall 25-21. They would be one set away from losing the whole matchup. Exira-EHK would take both Set 3 and 4 in close ones 25-23 and 26-24. in Set 5 it was to 15 and the Spartans would pull away late 15-9 and have the huge comeback to win 3-2.

Ar-We-Va traveled to a conference opponent in CAM on Tuesday evening. CAM got hot early and got Set 1 25-14. AWV struggled with serve receive early, but a good day out of their bench squad proved to be a difference maker for the Rockets. CAM would step up again in Set 2 and win 25-12. The Rockets struggled in the back row during the matchup. CAM would once again jump out early and take Set 3 25-16 and win 3-0.

Carroll hosted what will be a conference match in the next year or two with Hawkeye 10’s Denison-Schleswig. This matchup has been very close in many of the previous matchups. This was no different as both teams kept it close all the way through each set. Set 1 was close all the way through, but the home team environment helped lead Carroll down the right path to a win 25-22. Amanda Wardell and Analia Ayala were huge factors for the Tigers as they combined for 22 kills during the matchup. The Tigers maintained the momentum in Set 2, rallying late for a 25-20 win. The Monarchs committed numerous errors on the night, which allowed the Tigers to score plenty of points. Carroll would close out the good night on a 25-16 win and win 3-0.

South Central Calhoun fell in two sets against Greene County on Tuesday at the quad in Guthrie Center. Sadie Wheelock led them at the net in the loss with 4 kills and Olivia Wiese added 2 kills. The Titans struggled getting kills at the net in the opening set, falling 21-11. They bounced back and played better in set two but fell 21-17. Morgan McChesney had a team high 6 digs, Sydney Stuart had 5 digs with Macie Dorman and Emma Riat both having 3 digs. Stuart led the Titans with 4 assists and McChesney had a team high 2 aces.

The recent struggles continued for the Titans in a two set loss to a strong Chargers team. The Titans dropped the opening set 21-13 and fell in set two, 21-10. Sydney Stuart found three girls for kills, finishing with 9 assists. Sadie Wheelock and Olivia Wiese both had 4 kills and Blair Schleisman added 2 kills. Morgan McChesney paced the back row with 6 digs and Macie Dorman had 3 digs.

The Titans battled hard in a three set loss to Panorama, falling in the 3rd set 15-10. They responded well to losing in the opening set by winning set two 21-18, playing well down the stretch. Blair Schleisman, Olivia Wiese and Sadie Wheelock had their best match of the night at the net with all three players with 6 kills. Wheelock had a pair of blocks. Sydney Stuart dished out 13 assists to go with 5 digs. Morgan McChesney added 5 digs and Macie Dorman served 3 aces. Emma Riat added 4 digs in the back row.
The Titans went 0-3 in matches on the night and 1-6 in sets, falling to 6-13 overall. They head to Emmetsburg along with West Bend Mallard on Thursday for a Triangular.

Glidden Ralston played some of their best volleyball of the season in sets one and two, taking a 2-0 lead with 25-20 and 25-18 wins. The Bulldogs adjusted at the net, getting touches and blocks to throw the Wildcats out of rhythm. Glidden Ralston tried to tip over the block but the Bulldogs did a nice job of covering the tips. That wore down the Wildcats who hustled all night, battling to earn that set win to clinch the win. Boyer Valley controlled set three, winning 25-14 and took control of set four early, picking up a 25-18 win to send the match to a 5th set. The Bulldogs used the momentum of two straight set wins to keep the ball alive in set five and Glidden Ralston defense wore down, opening holes for the Bulldogs attacks as they earned a 15-8 win to rally for the reverse sweep.
Kassidy Wenck had a huge game with 9 kills and 24 digs to go with 3 blocks. Allison Snyder had 20 digs and a pair of aces. Amelia Garrett had 17 assists, 14 digs and 5 aces. McKenna Wiederien and Olivia Squibb both had 10 digs, BreAnn Hartwigsen had 3 blocks and Bryn Renze finished with 7 kills.
The Wildcats fall to 3-5 overall and will host CAM on Thursday.

IKM-Manning went over to Treynor for what could be their last matchup with the Wolves heading to the RVC in 2026. IKM-Manning had not beaten Treynor in the previous 11 years and had won only 5 sets out of the 16 matches they had played since 2014. IKM-Manning came in 5-1 on the year while Treynor sat at 8-3. Treynor also came into tonight as a favorite as they were ranked ahead of tonight. IKM-Manning attacked first, winning Set 1 25-17. Addisyn Bandow led the Wolves’ attack on the night with 14 kills. IKM-Manning would put Treynor on their heels as they took a close Set 2, 25-23. With the match on the line, it was all about how the Cardinals responded. Treynor would respond by keeping it alive with a 25-21 win in Set 3. It was the same in Set 4 as they would win 25-20. With both teams sitting at 2-2 on the night, it was Set 5 to 15 that would decide it all. WIKM-Manning would prevail late to break an 11-year losing streak and win 3-2 vs Treynor.

Kuemper dropped a heartbreaker at home to start the triangular on Tuesday. The Knights won sets two and four, dominating the 4th set but were unable to maintain momentum as Red Oak squeezed out tight wins in sets one and three before taking control midway through set five to earn the win. Red Oak offense was humming early as the Knights were late with their block, putting a lot of pressure on their back row. The Tigers served well, keeping the Knights out of system during some of their runs. Jocelyn O’Neal and Emily Sebeniecher both had key aces to keep them in control.
Kuemper never led in the opening set, tying it at 3 and 4 with kills by Mariah Heuton and Addy Anthofer but unable to get over the hump. Red Oak used a 5-0 run to build a 9-4 lead, then took their largest lead at 11-5 as Keely Jones was hitting well on the outside. Addy Anthofere and Millie Anthofer had back-to-back kills and Kuemper pulled within 12-9 on two kills from Kolbi Peter but Red Oak always had an answer, never allowing Kuemper to get within a point. They cut the lead to two on an Elsa Tiefenthaler ace and again with a couple errors but Red Oak late. The Knights trailed 22-20 but Red Oak pulled away to win 25-21.
Set two went back and forth with six lead changes and 11 ties. Kuemper led early with Kolbi Peter and Mariah Heuton having kills. Red Oak rallied, going up 5-4 and an ace put them up 6-4. The Tigers lead grew to 8-5 but Mariah Heuton had a kill and Addy Anthofer added a kill to pull them within 9-7. Elsa Tiefenthaler made it 9-8 will a kill and Kolbi Peter put Kuemper up 10-9 with a block. Sophie Lohrmann had an ace, pushing their lead to 12-9 and Kolbi Peter kept it at three with a kill. Red Oak rallied and took a 15-14 lead but Kuemper went back up 16-15. The game went back and forth with Red Oak taking a 18-17 lead but Mariah Heuton and Millie Anthofer had back-to-back kills to tie it at 19. Mia Milligan tied it again at 22 with an ace, then served another ace to put Kuemper up 23-22. Red Oak tied the set at 23 and 24 but Mariah Heuton had back-to-back kills to win the set 26-24.
Kuemper went up 1-0 in set three but Red Oak took a 3-1 lead and built a 17-9 lead. A Kuemper timeout ignited a run as the Knights pulled within three on a kill by Kolbi Peter. Mia Milligan’s serves were giving Red Oak trouble but the Tigers broke the serve and went up 19-15. Elsa Tiefenthaler had a kill and Addy Anthofer added another kill, pulling Kuemper within 19-18. Tiefenthaler had an ace, tying it at 19 and Mariah Heuton had a kill to tie it at 20. Millie Anthofer made it 21-21 with a kill but Red Oak slipped away for a 25-23 win.
The Knights dominated the 4th set, going up 2-0 and 5-2. Red Oak tied the set at 7 and 8 but Kuemper went on a 5-1 run and never looked back. Elsa Tiefenthaler had a pair of aces late, putting Kuemper up 20-11 and they cruised to a 25-13 win.
The 5th set was tight early with six ties and a pair of lead changes. Kuemper’s last lead was 3-2 but they tied it at 7. Red Oak took control of the match, going on a 7-0 run to lead 14-7 and held on for a 15-10 win.
Mariah Heuton led a balanced Kuemper team with 14 kills with Kolbi Peter adding 13 kills and Addy Anthofer with 12 kills. Elsa Tiefenthaler had a strong match with 6 kills, 31 assists, 9 digs and 3 aces. Sophie Lohrmann had 18 assists, Kaylie Simons 33 digs and Mia Milligan added 12 digs and 2 aces.

Kuemper bounced back with a nice sweep in their final match of the Knight, recovering well from the loss to Red Oak. They took control of the match early, winning set one 25-9, hitting the ball well, led by Mariah Heuton with 14 kills and Kolbi Peter with 10 kills. They were strong at the net on defense, getting touches and blocks, allowing the back row to know where the ball was going. Kaylie Simons paced the back row with 21 digs, helping the Knights pull out a 25-21 win in set two. Kuemper took control in set three, closing the book on the match with a 25-15 win. Zoe Brunning added 8 kills and 2 aces. Kolbi Peter and Mariah Heuton each had 2 blocks and Mia Milligan finished with 8 digs. Elsa Tiefenthaler played most of the match at setter, finishing with 27 assists.
The Knights moved to 17-2 on the season. They head to the CYO at Gehlen on Saturday.
