Volleyball Results Saturday, September 13th
Carroll, East Sac and Kuemper At South Central Calhoun Tournament
Kuemper earned the tournament title on Saturday, sweeping through all six of their matches with wins over, East Sac, Treynor, Ridge View, Winterset, South Central Calhoun and Carroll. The Knights allowed single digits in three of their twelve set wins and never allowed more than 16 points. Only one team scored at least 15 points in a set against the Knights defense. Carroll, East Sac and Ridge View all went 3-3 in matches with Ridge View earning 3rd place with their win over Carroll in three sets. Carroll and Ridge View were both 7-7 in sets but Ridge View rallied for a 2-1 win after Carroll won the 1st set 21-14 the Raptors won 21-19 and 15-12. The Tigers earned wins over South Central Calhoun, East Sac and Winterset, topping the Huskies in three sets, winning set three 15-7. East Sac was 6-7 in sets, finishing in 5th place. The Raiders picked up wins over South Central Calhoun to start their morning. The knocked off Ridge View and Winterset, topping the Huskies in three sets. The Raiders won sets one and three against the Huskies, taking set three 15-12. South Central Calhoun fell in all six matches on Saturday, earning a set win over Winterset. The Titans won the opening set against Winterset 21-19 but fell in the final two sets 21-18 and 15-4.
Mariah Heuton led the Knights at the net with 35 kills with Kolbi Peter adding 29 kills, Addy Anthofer 17 kills, Elsa Tiefenthaler 16 kills and Zoe Brunning with 13 kills. Tiefenthaler had a team high 63 assists with Sophie Lohrmann adding 38 assists. Kaylie Simons paced the back row with 46 digs with Lohrmann adding 26 digs, Mia Milligan 24 Digs and Tiefenthaler with 23 digs. Kolbi Peter had a team high 5 blocks, Addy Anthofer and Zoe Brunning both having 4 blocks. Mia Milligan had a strong day serving, leading the Knights with 10 aces with Elsa Tiefenthaler had 9 aces and Kolbi Peter had 7 aces.
Josie Rydl had a team high 88 assists for Carroll with Chloe Kock leading them in kills with 25. Analia Ayala and Amanda Wardell both had 24 kills with Kyra Hosenfelt adding 19 kills. Aubrie Drake paced the defense with 41 digs, Analia Ayala had 39 digs, Josie Rydl had 27 digs, Brylee Mrla 26 digs and Callie Cummings 19 digs. Chloe Kock and Amanda Wardell both had 5 blocks with Analia Ayala leading them with 7 aces. Bailey Bowman added 4 aces and Josie Rydl , Brylee Mrla and Callie Cummings all had 3 aces.
Jordin Carroll paced East Sac with 93 assists. Katelyn Schmitt led the Raiders with 34 kills, Emerson Ludwig 20 kills, Miranda Gerdes 15 kills, Jordin Carroll and Sarah Bontrager both had 12 kills and Reese Aschinger added 11 kills. Sarah Bontrager had a team high 53 digs, Katelyn Schmitt 38 digs,Tori Hauser added 29 digs, Lily Rodman 28 digs and Jordin Carroll had 24 digs. Emerson Ludwig had a team high 6 blocks, Katelyn Schmitt led them with 6 aces, Sarah Bontrager had 5 aces and Lily Rodman added 4 aces.
Blair Schleisman led the Titans attack with 23 kills with Sadie Wheelock and Olivia Wiese both having 19 kills. Sydney Stuart had 55 assists to go with 27 digs, pacing the back row defense. Morgan McChesney added 25 digs, Blair Schleisman had 23 digs, Olivia Wiese 22 digs and Macie Dorman 18 digs. Blair Schleisman had a team high 4 blocks with Sadie Wheelock adding 3 blocks and 3 aces while Morgan McChesney had a team high 4 aces.
