Coon Rapids-Bayard faced off with Exira-EHK in a district matchup for both. It was the first road game for the Crusaders as they sat at 1-1 after a loss to CAM. The Crusaders and Spartans had similar QB’s in Bryce Brabham and Caden Oswald. Both are dual threat with passing and rushing. The Crusaders fell behind in the 1st Quarter 22-8. They would explode for 28 points in the 2nd quarter but with the Spartans coming out with 20 they would trail at half once again 42-36. The Crusaders would match the Spartans 14-14 in the third and a majority of this matchups scoring comes from Caden Oswald who would finish the day with 8 touchdowns for the Crusaders. The Crusaders went into the 4th down by a score 56-50. The Crusaders would outscore the Spartans 14-6 in the 4th to pull off the late comeback and pick up a 64-62 win over the Spartans. The Crusaders trailed all game but an incredible 391 yard and 8 touchdown night from QB Caden Oswald kept them in it till the end.
