A slow start dropped East Sac to 1-2 on the season as MVAOCOU used a balanced attack and a aggressive defense to build a 21-0 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. The Raiders struggled early on offense and turned the ball over on their second possession, setting up a Ram touchdown. They finished the game with 194-yards rushing and 16-yards passing while MVAOCOU ran for 257-yards and threw for 204-yards.
The Ram scored early with Manny Cameron racing 93-yards for a touchdown with 9;38 left in the 1st quarter, putting them up 7-0. East Sac was beginning a solid drive with a chance to answer but a fumble gave the Rams the ball in good shape and they capitalized 8-plays later with a 6-yard run, putting them ahead 14-0. They added a 27-yard touchdown pass, putting them up 21-0 with 3:00 left in the 1st quarter. East Sac’s first-four drives were 3-plays, 4-plays, 3-plays and 3-plays and MVAOCOU took advantage of the quick turnaround and good field position. They Rams scored on a three of four possessions in the 2nd quarter, getting a 4-yard touchdown run, followed by a 16-yard touchdown pass. After a punt on their third drive they scored before the end of the half with a 1-yard touchdown run, going up 42-0 with 1:12 remaining.
The Raiders had a better start to the 2nd half. Becken Kluver picked off a pass, giving the Raiders the ball near midfield. They marched down the field, using 15-plays and scoring on a 2-yard run by Weston Julin with 2:32 left in the 3rd. The two teams traded touchdowns to start the 4th with Julin scoring on a 26-yard run, pulling them within 49-13 with 6:26 left.
Weston Julin led the Raiders with 94-yards rushing on 14 carries, scoring a pair of touchdowns. Carson Schmitt added 66-yards on the ground. Beckem Kluver had an interception, setting up a touchdown.
The Raiders are 1-2 overall and open district play at Manson NW Webster on Friday.
