Paton-Churdan hosted Eagle Grove for Volleyball action on Monday Night. The Rockets were without Kaliyah Minnihan during this game and had a different look than in earlier games this season. Both teams are coming into the matchup under .500, with Eagle Grove at 3-6 and Paton-Churdan at 1-2. Both Mia Russell and Aliyva Smith had an ace and the Rockets found some bright spots in a loss to the Eagles. This loss pushes the Rockets to 1-3 on the season as they travel to Glidden-Ralston on Thursday.

IKM-Manning rallied to win both the 1st and 2nd set, setting up a sweep on the road on Monday. The team took big steps forward, earning a hard fought win on the road in the Western Iowa Conference. IKM-Manning trailed 23-15 in the opening set but rallied with Addisyn Bandow getting several big kills, Anna Stangl getting a couple aces, serving a 10-0 run. Karlee Arp put the Wolves ahead and Addisyn Bandow had the set ending kill. The Wolves were down 19-16 in set two and rallied to win 25-23 with Keagan Eischeid ending the set with a kill. IKM-Manning never trailed in set three, leading from the start for the 1st time in the match. They led by as many as seven in the 3rd set.
The Wolves made some nice adjustments as set one went on with LoMa tipping early and finding the donut. IKM-Manning struggled in serve receive early as LoMa built a 13-5 lead. The Wolves couldn’t find a rhythm but kept it within striking distance. Macy Gruhn had a kill to pull them within 14-8 and Addisyn Bandow pulled them within 16-10 and 17-11. Ella Langel added a kill as the Wolves were down 20-14. LoMa stretched the lead to 23-15 and looked in control. IKM-Manning caught a break and Anna Stangl went back to serve. Addisyn Bandow had been swinging well in the set and Karlee Arp kept setting her as she scored three kills in the Wolves 10-0 run. Anna Stangl serve kept getting LoMa out of system, adding a pair of aces. IKM-Manning tied the set at 23 and Karlee Arp put them up 24-23 with a kill. Addisyn Bandow ended the set with a kill as the Wolves ended the set on a 10-0 run.
LoMa responded early in set two, taking a 2-0 lead but IKM-Manning went up 4-3 but fell behind 6-5. The Panthers maintained the lead but IKM-Manning stayed close with Karlee Arp getting an ace and Addisyn Bandow had a kill to pull within 12-10. The Panthers maintained a 3-4 point lead but IKM-Manning would cut it to 15-13 with Keagan Eischeid and Macy Gruhn getting back-to-back kills. LoMa extended the lead to 18-14 but IKM-Manning fought back with a pair of kills from Addisyn Bandow, a kill and ace from Karlee Arp. The Wolves tied the game at 19 and took a 21-20 lead on a kill from Keagan Eischeid. LoMa pulled back up 22-21 but the Wolves grabbed the lead at 24-23 and won on a kill from Keagan Eischeid.
Keagan Eischeid had a kill to start set three and IKM-Manning never trailed with Eischeid and Caylie Rasmussen having back-to-back kills to push the lead to 5-2. An Addisyn Bandow kill stretched the lead to 10-4 and Macy Gruhn made it 14-7. The Wolves serve was a strength in set three and they shut down the Panthers with a good block, including a big block from Katelyn Bandow, making it 21-14. LoMa trailed 23-16 after a kill from Keagan Eischeid but went on a 3-0 run to pull within 23-19 but IKM-Manning scored the final two points to end the match.
Addisyn Bandow and Keagan Eischeid both had 13 kills with Eischeid adding 3 blocks. Karlee Arp had 25 assists and 2 aces. Anna Stangl had a team high 10 digs with Caylie Rasmussen adding 5 digs and Katelyn Bandow having 4 blocks.
The Wolves are 2-0 and will host Ar-We-Va, Exira-EHK and Ogden on Tuesday.
