Girls Cross Country Results Thursday, September 4th 

Kuemper At Spirit Lake Invite 

Kuemper competed at their second meet of the season. The Knights faced as good a field as they will see all season, finishing 10th in Class A with 238 points. The Knights had two girls finish in the top 50 and all six of their runners in the top 67. Sioux Center rolled to the team title with 22 points, ahead of MOC Floyd Valley with 56 points. Natalie Anderson of MOC Floyd Valley was the individual champ, running a 18:55.69. Sioux Center finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 7th to dominate the top 10. Grace Schoonover led the Knights with a 24:23.16, taking 41st with Logan Lee continuing a strong start to the season with a 24:46.96, finishing in 48th.

South Central Calhoun At East Sac Invite 

South Central Calhoun won the team race as the only full team in the first ever East Sac Invite. The Titans had three runners in the top 5 and five in the top 10. Iris Melody won the race, running a 21:46.88. Melody ran behind Danika Meyer of Newell Fonda for just over a mile, then passed her and held the lead the rest of the race. Meyer finished 2nd in 22:01.84. Jossa Haupert continues a very strong start to the season for the Titans, taking 3rd in 25:10.97 with Abigail Kistenmacher finishing 5th and Katie Burley 7th for the Titans.

Ar-We-Va and IKM-Manning At LoMa Invite

IKM-Manning and Ar-We-Va competed at LoMa with the Wolves running five girls and Ar-We-Va having a pair of girls race. The Wolves ran well as a pack with all five girls finishing between 23rd and 36th with three of them 34th, 35th and 36th. Ar-We-Va also ran well together, taking 26th and 30th place. The Wolves finished 5th in the team standings with 108 points. Tri Center won the meet with 37 points, easily outpacing 2nd place Denison Schleswig with 56 points. Addisyn Bandow of IKM-Manning led the local runners, taking 23rd in 24:28.57 with Catherine Conner of IKM-Manning in 27th with a 25:25.99. Gabby Hundling paced Ar-We-Va in 26th with a 25:21.38 and Vivian Blackford had a strong showing for the Rockets, finishing 30th in 25:42.77. Lili Denton of St Albert won the race, running a 17:26.44, Allysen Johnsen of LoMa was 2nd in 19:57.14.
