Girls Tennis Results Friday, August 22nd
Kuemper At Saydel Tournament
Kuemper had a strong showing at the Saydel Tournament on Friday, winning one championship in singles and having a pair of 3rd place finishes in doubles. The Knights scored 33 team points, finishing in 4th place, one point behind 3rd place Saydel and thee points in front of Creston, which finished 5th with 30 points. Knoxville won the tournament with 44 points and Grinnell was 2nd with 36 points.
Charlotte Schwabe continues her outstanding season, winning both of her matches in #1 singles, dropping only one game. She earned the title with a sweep of Piper Rundall of Grinnell in the title match after winning her semifinal match 6-1. Bella Lu and Regan Garringer teamed up to finish 3rd in #1 doubles and Riah Koenck and Meredith Sturm was 3rd in #2 doubles. Both teams won their first match before falling in he semifinals. They both did a nice job rebounding to win their 3rd place match. Lu and Garringer were dominant, winning 6-1 to take 3rd. They went 16-7 in games during their matches. Koenck and Sturm controlled their 3rd place match, winning 6-0. They wrapped up a nice showing, going 14-10 in games. Priscila Linares finished 7th in #2 singles, dropping both of her matches. She played well in her opening round against 3rd seeded Millie Peck of Saydel, falling 6-2. She continued to battle in the consolation bracket, losing 6-3.

Audubon At Dallas Center Grimes Quad
Vivian Jackson earned a singles win for the Wheelers against Ballard as Audubon fell 8-1. Jackson did a nice job adjusting to Anja Tjernagel, figuring out a way to earn a tough 8-6 win. Emma Reinhardt and Regan Hoffman played well in their singles matches with Reinhardt falling 8-4 and Hoffman losing 8-3. The Wheelers were 21-46 in singles games. Audubon was 9-24 in doubles games but had two tight matches with both Vivian Jackson and Reagan Hoffman and Marie Boehm and Emma Reinhardt falling 8-4.
The Wheelers split singles matches against Clarke in their second match of the day, but fell in all three doubles matches, with on very tight loss in doubles, losing 6-3. Vivian Jackson completed an undefeated day in singles with a 8-3 win, finishing 16-9 in games on Friday. Marie Boehm helped the Wheelers off to a good start, winning #1 singles 8-2. Emma Reinhardt added a win in singles, getting an 8-3 win to even the match at three going into doubles. Marie Boehm and Emma Reinhard had a strong showing in doubles, falling 8-6. The Wheelers were 37-33 in singles games and 8-24 in doubles.
