Girls Tennis Results Friday, August 15th

Kuemper earned a hard fought win on Friday morning, tying 3-3 in singles before clinching the win with a pair of wins in doubles. The Knights finished the day 38-29 in singles games, winning number #1, #2 and #4 singles with a combined 24-4 record. Charlotte Schwabe remained undefeated in singles with a sweep for the second straight day, winning 8-0 in #1 singles. Regan Garringer won #2 singles 8-3 and Meredith Sturm had a dominant morning in #4 singles, winning 8-1. Riah Koenck nearly gave the Knights a fourth win in singles, falling in #3 singles 9-8 (7-3). Kuemper needed to have a strong showing in doubles and did with Charlotte Schwabe and Regan Garringer earning a 8-1 win in #1 doubles and the #2 doubles team of Riah Koenck and Meredith Sturm winning 8-4. The Knights were 17-13 in doubles games, finishing the day 55-42 in games overall.

Kuemper hosts Clarinda on Monday.

Mariajose Guerrero Luna of Harlan won 8-5 over Mirabel Abraham of Kuemper

Audubon At Creston

It was a tough morning for Audubon, falling behind in singles, even with three close losses before falling 7-2 overall to Creston. The Wheelers were 1-5 in singles, getting a nice overtime win from Emma Reinhardt  in #6 singles, winning 8-8 (8-6). Lena Rieman lost in #4 singles, but battled hard, losing 8-6. The Wheelers were 25-48 in games in singles. The Panthers had clinched the team win but continued to play hard in doubles, taking two of three matches against the Wheelers. Vivian Jackson and Reagan Hoffman closed out the day with a strong 8-3 win in #3 doubles. The Wheelers were 11-19 in games in doubles, going 36-67 overall.

Audubon plays Lewis Central and Denison Schleswig at Denison on Monday.
