Congratulations to Riley Miller of Exira-EHK-Audubon on being named the KCIM Rewind Softball Athlete of the Year. Miller was terrific this season, defending her Rewind Player of the Year from 2024. She went 13-8 in the circle against a tough schedule and with an inexperienced team behind her to start the season. She was at her best late in the season, helping the Spartans knock off 3rd ranked Newell Fonda on the road with 13 strikeouts. She helped the Spartans beat four ranked teams in a five game stretch. She ended the season with 185 strikeouts and a 1.07 WHIP. Opponents batted .195 against this season in 128 ⅓ innings pitched. She isn’t just a dominant pitcher. She had a great season at the plate, batting .365 with a 0.955 OPS and a .514 slugging percentage. Miller had eleven-doubles and walked eleven times while only striking out five times. She had her best hitting games, often against the toughest competition. When not pitching, she was strong at shortstop.
