Coon Rapids Bayard At Exira-EHK-Audubon

Exira-EHK-Audubon kept their hot streak going, winning their fifth straight game. The Spartans had their first-four batters reach base and Abby Wanser drove home two of them to take a 3-0 lead. Wanser scored making it 4-0 and Bryli Petersen drove in Maya King to make it 5-0 in the bottom of the 1st. The Crusaders had a baserunner on base in each of the first-two innings but weren’t able to string any hits against Taryn Petersen. The Spartans turned a double play to end the 2nd inning. That sparked a big run for them, sending seventeen batters to the plate. Abby Wanser doubled to drive in a run and Riley Miller had a 2 RBI single. Taryn Petersen added an RBI single, Payton Gust drove in a run, Brooklyn Brabham added an RBI and Jordan Mulford had an RBI. The Spartans scored 11-runs in the 2nd inning and led 16-0. Anna Hart sparked the Crusaders with a 3-run home run in the top of the 3rd. She drove in Adalynn Spangler and Emily Booth, who had both walked. Piper Mason added a single for the Crusaders in the 4th.

Abby Wanser had 2 hits for Exira-EHK-Audubon, driving in 3 RBI and scoring 2 runs. Taryn Petersen had an RBI and scored twice, Anna Larsen scored  3 runs, Riley Miller added 2 RBI and 3 runs scored and Maya King scored 3 runs.

Anna Hart hit a 3-run home run for Coon Rapids Bayard and Piper Mason added a base hit.

The Spartans end the regular season 14-11 and head to Pleasantville for the postseason next Wednesday. Coon Rapids Bayard ends the regular season 1-18 and hosts Ar-We-Va Monday in the postseason.

Kuemper At LoMa

Kuemper nearly rallied back after falling behind 6-0, they scored 5-runs in the 5th to pull within a run. The Knights had ten batters at the plate in the 5th, leaving runners on 2nd and 3rd. LoMa responded, getting a run in the bottom half to lead 7-5. Kuemper had one baserunner the rest of the game with Charlotte Schwabe singling in the 7th. The Panthers were able to score consistently, scoring in the first-five innings, but never scoring more than 2-runs in an inning.

LoMa had three hits in their first-four at-bats in the 1st inning, using that and a Kuemper error to take a 2-0 lead. They added a run on a hit-by-pitch and a single in the 2nd inning and lead 3-0. Another walk and single in the 3rd, pushed the lead to 4-0. A Kuemper error sparked the Panthers in the 4th, leading to 2-runs and a 6-0. Claire Venner singled for Kuemper to start the 5th. Ellee Schreck walked and Morgan Masching and Abrey Pudenz had back-to-back singles with Pudenz getting an RBI. Chloe Gehling kept it going with an RBI single and Charlotte Schwabe reached on an error, driving in another run. Kaylie Wolterman doubled to score Abrey Pudenz and Chloe Gehling and the Knights were down 6-5. Schwabe ended the inning at 3rd and Wolterman was stranded at 2nd base. LoMa had three singles in the bottom of the 5th, adding an insurance run.

Kaylie Wolterman had a team high 2 hits with a double and 2 RBI. Chloe Gehling and Abrey Pudenz both had a base hit, an RBI and scored a run andMorgan Masching had a base hit and scored a run.

The Knights fall to 11-18 heading into a pair of home games with Denison Schleswig on Thursday.

Morgan Schagt had a base hit and Tahlia Hahn scored for the Tigers in the 4th inning as they hung close to Gilbert most of the game. Gilbert scored in three of the four innings they batted, but didn’t have a big inning at the plate. They were consistent against the Tigers pitching, scoring 2-runs in the 2nd inning, 4-run in the 3rd and a 5-run 4th inning to end the game.

Morgan Schagt paced Carroll with 1 hit and Tahlia Hahn scored a run.

Carroll falls to 1-24 and will travel to ADM on Monday.

Shannon Melody and Bailey Solko both had hits for the Titans as South Central Calhoun hosted Newell Fonda in the afternoon. Solko scored for the Titans in the 4th. Mikelle Heinrichs added a stolen base in the loss.

Glidden Ralston fell short in their attempt to pull even with Woodbine in the Rolling Valley Conference. The Wildcats trailed the Tigers by one game in the loss column and had a chance to get a share of the title. The Wildcats scored in the 2nd inning when Kennedy Thooft drove in Bryn Renze. Glidden Ralston finished with 6-hits, all singles. The game was tight most of the game but Woodbine took control with a 5-run 3rd inning, making it 6-1.

Kassidy Wenck, Jenna Subbert, Bryn Renze, Ashlynn Tigges, Kennedy Thooft and Allison Snyder all had a base hit with Thooft having an RBI and Renze scoring a run.

The Wildcats fell to 14-5 overall and will travel to Panorama on Thursday.

East Sac offense struggled on Wednesday with Makenna Steiger collecting their only hit. The Raiders had three baserunners and couldn’t jell enough offense as Pocahontas Area scored a pair of runs in the 1st and 5th innings with solo runs in the 3rd and 4th innings. The Indians had four straight hits to open the game, scoring a pair of runs to lead 2-0. An RBI single with 2-outs in the 3rd led to a run and a leadoff single in the 4th turned into a 4-0 lead. Makenna Steiger singled for East Sac in the 1st inning and was stranded at 1st base. Lilly Lode walked in the 3rd, ending the inning at 3rd base.

Makenna Steiger had a hit for the Raiders with Lilly Lode earning a walk.

The loss drops the Raiders to 11-12 as they host Ridge View on Thursday.

Ar-We-Va had a strong showing, topping Boyer Valley in four innings with Amber Ragaller pitching a nice game and the offense scoring in all four innings. The Rockets pushed 3-runs across the board in the 1st and 2nd innings They added a run in the 3rd and got 3-runs in the 4th. Ar-We-Va had five players have at least one hit with Hallie McCollough leading the way with 3 hits. She added 2 RBI and scored 3 runs. Gabby Hundling had a base hit and scored twice, Morgan Berg had a base hit and scored 3 runs and Amber Ragaller had a base hit and drove in 2 RBI. Amber Ragaller earned the win, going 4 innings, allowing 2 hits while striking out 3.

The Rockets have won 2 games in a row, improving to 7-8 overall with a game at IKM-Manning on Thursday.

IKM-Manning scored first with Alikxa McGinn hitting a solo home run in the 1st. The Rams came out on fire at the plate, sending twelve batters to the plate in the bottom of the 1st, scoring 8-runs. They had five hits in the inning and were able to take advantage of two walks and two errors from IKM-Manning. A run in the 2nd put the Rams up 9-1 but IKM-Manning scored in the top of the 3rd, getting a single from Caylie Rasmussen who scored on a double by Anna Stangl. IKM-Manning added a run in the 6th with Karlee Arp singling and scoring on a hit by Kadynce Ketcham. The Wolves defense settled in after the first-two innings only allowing three baserunners the rest of the game.

Alikxa McGinn had a solo home for IKM-Manning with Anna Stangl had a double with an RBI, Karlee Arp and Caylie Rasmussen both had a hit and scored a run with Kadynce Ketcham having a hit and an RBI and Laura McCarville had a base hit.

The Wolves fall to 8-17 and will host Ar-We-Va on Thursday.
